To be more specific... Does anyone have a age gap that they think could pose a problem in the interview in Casa? We have an 18 year gap. I have already gone to visit him once, we have known each other over a year now. Because of financial reason I do not think I will be able to go back again. I willbe filing my K1 fiance visa hopefully in a week. I was told that seeing him only once, and our age gap could pose a problem and be an eyebrow lifter. When I went we took 960 photos. About 800 of those photos are of us. I plan on submitting on disk 560 photos and send 70 printed photographs. We have hundred of emails since we email each other every day. We talk daily on cam, twice a day or more. I have anout $800 in calling cards that I can provide proof of calling him, and in our pictures I think its very obvious how in love we are with each other. So, the reason behind all this f.y.i. is that I believe we have sufficient evidence. I dont think flying there can prove that anymore than its already been proven.

Has anyone flown there was and received a approved visa even though an age gap is present? Im wondering of other peoples experiences.

I wanted to tell you ladies on this group that I belong to a fabulous group of women on yahoo. Some women are waiting for there fiances to come, some are already here, and there is alot of great information on this group and they are also a very freindly bunch. This group however is for women only... if your interested visit us http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SupportingMoroccanLove/

Missy,

Welcome - I'm sure many of the petitioners with Moroccan SOs will be along shortly. They can tell you about their experiences...

One thing about your post that popped out to me was your want to send electronic files - they are not accepted by USCIS or the consulate. I would pick out your favorite pics that show a variety of places, dates [different clothes], and any showing interaction with his family, etc. There is a lot of great information in the K1 forum about what makes the best impact in your initial filing.

Good luck!

Lots of us OW/YM couples did just fine going thru the Moroccan consulate. I'm 21 years older than my husband. It didn't even come up at his 10 minute interview, and he got his visa the next day.

I tend to advise against an overload of evidence. For one thing, the interviewer can't possibly examine all of it in a timely manner, and second, it looks desperate. Also, if you're using calling cards, make sure that you can produce a list with your actual phone numbers to show who you're calling. Some cards don't have that feature.

I hope that helps.

PS - I discovered that support group you mentioned while cruising the web about a week ago. I was curious about it. Hmmmmm . . .

The group is really great! I found so much information on it thats helped alot. Its a shame that too much proof seems desperate. How can you be desperate by supplying alot of proof doesnt make sense. so 70 too much? I thought about adding to it.

You said "Lots of us OW/YM couples did just fine going thru the Moroccan consulate. I'm 21 years older than my husband. It didn't even come up at his 10 minute interview, and he got his visa the next day. " But how many times did you meet in person? Once? Twice? Im not as concerned about the age difference as I know many many people who have gotten approved with such age differences, more than mine. So dont worry about that Isra. What I have found is proof is the key, not age.

I really hope you come by and join the group. The ladies are really sooo great! There was another group I was on but alot of backbiting... You wont find that on this group! Missy

Im in the same situation as you are Missy.........I went to visit my fiance in Morocco this past March and stayed 3 weeks too but I stayed with his family in their home. I am also a single mother and I dont have the money to make that trip again. I mean if it takes too long I will be forced to go back but it wont even be possible until next year so I am hoping it wont take that long. I have gotten so worried after reading other peoples opinions on this website. Before joining this site I wasnt at all worried but my fiance was and he is the one who told me to join here and find out.

We met in real life in 2005 and married 10 days later. I went back in 2006 for a honeymoon, and then again in 2008, just before his interview. We took the slow boat lol. It's difficult to tell what combo of events or evidence gets you over the top, but we took about a dozen photos to the interview, and they didn't even look at anything we brought. Who knows, but as a former government bureaucrat, I'd say that you don't want to overdo evidence. Too much projects a lack of confidence in your case, imo. Plus, presentation is the most important factor.

Thanks for the invite! I belonged to some groups of Americans with Arab Muslim husbands years ago, but it was such a bad experience, I'm a bit wary now. I did make one good friend there whom I still hang out with when in Morocco. Think quality over quantity.

There is so much that goes into the decison to approve or not approve, from enough evidence to the mood of the interviewing consular. All you can do is submit your proof of bona fide relationship and other required documents and hope for the best. There is no scenario that is fool proof in this journey. I have seen couples go through here that based on their writing you could pretty much feel it was the real deal, and got denied, and others where we just knew the beneficiary was in it for the green card, and got approved. :help: (I have seen as high as 27 years age diff get approved)

And no way does USCIS want to look at 500+ pics (IMO). Just send some random photos, like was suggested, a few emaiils that span the time of your relationship, and other documentation. Dont make it too hard to approve you.

lolol I know they wont look at 500 pics... but just thought if they knew it was there, knew I had 500 pics worth of proof it would be soo obvious! lol Yeah, maybe I just better leave that out.. lol I have also seen people with pretty big age gaps get approves... thats what gives me hope. But when he gets approved is when I will start breath again!

As far as the yahoo group I belong too it would have been pretty difficult dealing without them. I did belong to another group prior to them and OMG it was a horrible experience!! Then I tried this one and the ladies have been so helpful and supporting..nothing like the other one. Im really thankful for them and people I meet. Before when I started this quest, I felt the only person on the planet doing this. So thanks everyone!! Missy

Yeah, there's really no way to know how things will turn out. A quick summary for us is in my 'signature'. We only knew each other 7 months before he got his visa, but I also went to visit him twice before we sent the K1 packet, and again for his interview (he took my passport in with him). I'm 11 years older than he is; he was never married, I was divorced; different religions and all that... I have three kids; didn't know Arabic or French, but his English was decent.... somehow it all worked out for us. We sent an average sized K1 packet, I guess, but then he took a whole bunch of stuff to the interview. I think our prayers helped quite a bit.

I wish you a smooth journey.

Best of luck!

Venusfire...That's interesting that your fiance took YOUR passport into the interview with him. I'm going to Morocco tomorrow and my fiance's interview is next Wed so maybe I should give him my passport to take in with him too? It shows I'm in Morocco but I never like to be without my passport.

I've been to Morocco 4 times before the K1 packet was sent and 2 times after. I hope that will help us... and we have all the evidence. I'm also older than him. He speaks great English so I think that's a positive too. Keep good thought for us PLEASE! Wishing everyone tons of good luck to be reunited with your beloved mates ASAP. :)

All my best,

Jayme

I think it would be weird for him to take your passport with him. What would it prove? He can say you're there. If they want to see you, they'll call you and you'll come in. If he were lying about your being there, you wouldn't be able to come. So I say it looks a little desperate for him to take it with him.

and my fiance just had his interview last week, the day after my birthday so we went from being 16 years different to 17 (EEK) and they didn't even ask him about the age difference. I did live in Morocco for 3 years so that probably went a long way to alleviate some concerns. I agree with everyone else, just put together the evidence to show it's a bonafide relationship. That's all they're trying to discover. IT's helpful to search on this site to come up with potential questions he'll be asked. If anything makes you nervous, work on those issues. Basically, though, from what Ahmed told me of his interview, it really is just a conversation between the beneficiary and the consular officer. the CO will ask a question, and then follow up on the response. So your fiance should feel comfortable elaborating on different topics. Like, if he shows a photo of you guys by a tree, the Co might say, does she like trees? and he should jsut be honest with his response.

good luck!

All my best,

Jayme

Jayme,

Oh, I'm sure it wasn't necessary, but he asked for it, so I gave it to him (I was standing outside). I honestly never asked him if he ever took it out of his pocket and showed the interviewer or not. I also wonder if he did it partly to keep it from getting stolen - he usually carried it in his pocket whenever we left his parents' house. I guess he figured no one would think to 'lift' a passport from a Moroccan in Morocco. No one would probably expect him to have an American's passport in his pocket, either. He's protective of me.

I think all of your visits are helpful as evidence. Yes, I also think that good English helps, too. My husband's English was fine by the interview, and he said something about that helping.

You must be SO excited!

I really hope to see a post from you soon saying he got the visa! It might not be the day of the interview, but it could be soon after (his was 6 days later).

Best of luck!
