Completed Medicals today and am off to VFS to submit my paper work tomorrow. I believe submitting medicals is optional....so Should I / Shouldn't I?

From my experience with the CR-1 and what others have posted, it is better to take the medical report to the interview. Bring the X-ray with you as well (even though no one is going to ask for it).

Also remember, the consulate only allows plastic bags into the consulate, they will not allow anything with a zipper includes bags made out of cloth, this includes purses. There is a small stationery store diagonally across from the VFS office that sells big plastic bags if you need them the morning of the interview. Also most of the stores are closed in the area that morning, so if you want water or food before you enter the consulate bring it with you, and throw it away before you enter the consulate.

You also have the option of the VFS Stars and Stripes lounge. The ticket is 250 Rupees, and allows you to enter the VFS lounge before your interview(its Air Conditioned), and then a bus will take you to the consulate, and you won't have to wait on the line. They also have snacks and beverages that you can purchase inside. The interviews are generally scheduled for first thing in the morning, so your only in the lounge for a few minutes. Also, there are lockers outside of the VFS lounge to lockup cellphones and purses. If you decide to buy the ticket, buy it when you drop your papers off at VFS.

As for me, it was a crazy long day cleaning up other people's messes as usual! The good news is that my case has finally been received at NVC and Diego took care of the medical today with flying colors!

I submitted my documents to VFS today, they returned half the requested paperback (inclu the draft) is that normal?

Queue I did take the Star & stripe lounge facility...

Caroline..... I am so happy that you didn't have to wait 2 weeks for your papers to be received at the NVC. They should be leaving today or tomorrow and they will be in CR next week. It takes about 3 days for DHL to deliver the papers to the Embassy. Stay on top of them. The people at the Embassy are very nice and really helpful. It should be all down hill for you now.

My case was completed at the NVC, we're just waiting for an appt.

What is this about the medical appt...do we have to wait for some form or anything like that for my hubby to get that out of the way????????? I'm not sure in what order this is done, please someone clarify this for me,

I e-mailed the embassy when I found out my papers were on the way. I asked them to e-mail me the packet 3 so I could help get things taken care of. They e-mailed me the packet the very next day.

The packet will list the doctors you can go to for everything that needs to be done.

NVC has not made my appt with the embassy yet, I'm waiting for that.

case was completed at NVC (april 29, 2009 case complete),

so from what you're saying I take it that they have shipped my paperwork to the embassy even though I don't have a date yet, correct?

So, therefore I can email them and ask them for this info?????????? (I went the CR1 route)

and what's with packets #3 and #4, have no idea what's in them? does this apply to K3 only or I have to do that too...pleasee help!

I was under the impression that you can go to the medical appt with the letter that's included in the info they provide to you once the case has been schedule etc.

yea, I was referring to the K-3 package. But I can't imagine the doctors would be different. Try calling the embassy. Maybe they have a list of doctors they can e-mail to you so you can at least get your doctors appt out of the way and you x-ray and labs.

I have the doctors and their addresses where my hubby can go, I just thought that you had to present something to them as far as the process/ proof goes. But def I will find out if he can go with out anything from embassy or something.

Lisa, I can't believe how calm she is and Y will be here TOMORROW!!!!!

I am just excited at the thought hubby will be with me possibly for my Bday. It will of course all depend on whether we will have post interview AP or not. Typically, the visa is handed out b/w 1 week-1 month after interview depending on how much more name checks they need to run. I am hoping to escape post interview AP since we already served time at NVC AP Jail for both CR1 and K3.

Now the ball is all in hubby's court and he is all wacko trying to get the evidence packet finalized! We have so many pics, emails, letters, diaries from when I was 16-17 yrs old and 8 new ones since we found each other, poems, greeting cards, and the list goes on and on and on...

Hugs to everyone and thanks for ur support, Lisa, Seren, Jen, Candid, Caroline, Cnt, Que, Steve, Mayra et all You guys helped me through some dark times and I appreciate having u alongside this long tedious journey. I hope all of us soon will be at the end of it and all done with USCIS/NVC/IMMIHell
