Hey there guys...

I noticed that ppl getting NOA1s thru from the CSC was going thru rather quickly at the start of the month and last month even - like within a week, but seems to have slowed right down. Is this because its a busy time of the year or just a momentary delay? (or maybe nothing and i am over thinking things!!)

This isn't a real concern just curious as to what your views are...

USCIS takes a long time. You can check the current processing times on their website. Or you can check the timelines here on vj.

Did they already cash your check? Maybe there was something missing in your application, that's when it usually takes a little bit longer.

No they havent cashed our check - its not just us waiting either - its not a big deal really - i am sure it'll be thru soon. I am also pretty sure our application wasnt missing anythin either. I know the processing times are online, they dont specifically give times for NOAs tho do they.. like i said, its not that big a deal.

I totally know how you feel... it's just by seeing so many people with NOA1s, or at least cashed cheques, within 3 days or something, and it seems, judging by the April CSC K1 thread, that there are a LOT of us that have been waiting one or 2+ weeks since mid-April without even a cashed cheque... it's a little discouraging :(

I may be wrong, but I think I remember that the availability date for new H1B visa allotments is in April. That will be prioritized over family visas.

Seems backwards to me .... a work visa has priority over a family visa .... sigh I hope you are wrong :P

Yeah thats kind of what I was figuring. We applied in March when most of the Feb filers were being approved and then comes April when we thought we might get the NOA2 by the end of the month and nothing. They did 35 petitions per week on average during march and like 35 total for april, so I think they were working on other cases.

Edit - I just looked it up. The premium processing for H1B's started April 7th, so thats undoubtably why things are taking longer now. Blech stupid CSC.

Oh great... so does that mean our entire process will be delayed? Any idea as to how much of a delay we could expect? I was hoping to be done this part of the BS in January, and be able to move then, but now I feel like that's wishful thinking, as it's only 8-9 months away. This makes me even more pissed that we didn't file when we were originally talking about it in late Jan/early Feb.

No idea. I was hoping to be done around October, really wish I had of sent mine in about 2 weeks sooner. Hoping maybe we might get notice this month, I'm thinking it might be around the 3-4 month mark for NOA2's atm. They are almost capped for the H1B Visa's themselves, and theres not really all that many to process in the grand scheme of things. I will keep praying for them to speed up for us all.

This is the USCIS stage, slow..........your journey starts when you get NOA1 then the real test and waiting begins. You should be getting your NOA1 soon, USCIS always fluctuates. Goodluck.
