Hello, so me any my new wife are filling out the papers for the AOS package as i have arrived on a K-1 visa. I have a few questions on some of the forms and any kind of help would be much appreciated. If any of you out there who have already finished this process to complete the AOS papers on a K-1 visa.

So :

Form I-485 Part 1 questions :

1, Just under the family name box there is a box that say 'Address - C/O' , i was wondering what information is needed to be put in this box? it cant be my address where i am now because that is put in the box below, hmmmmm?

2, I - 94 # ? Is this the 11 digit number on the white I-94 card inside my UK passport?

I-485 Part 3 questions :

1, Nonimmigrant Visa Number? where is this located or how can i obtain this?

I-765 question :

1, I am a little confused about Question 16 as i cannot locate the instructions and i am confused as to what code i should enter?

2, Also some advice on question 17 would be very helpful too

So i have been looking at the form I-131, the travel authorization paper. I am wondering, is this only to be filled out if you know that you are travelling abroad? I would only want/need to travel home in the near future if there was a family emergency for example, so if i want to be on the safe side should i file this paper too?

Sorry about the random questions, but we need to get this sent out asap, any advice on these papers and answers would go down great. Again i say i am here on a K-1 Visa,

Thanks so much in advance

1. It means "Address Care Of" in case someone else is taking in your mail. Probably NA, leave it blank.

2. Yes

3. Non immigrant visa number is the number on your K-1 visa

4. Anyone can apply for the AP (I-131), if filed with the I-485 it is free, why not? You do not need to list dates of travel, leave it blank or write "to be determined"

5. Follow all the instructions, be sure to include all supporting documents, sign the forms. Send by certified mail or FedEx so you have delivery confirmation, use a persoanl check so you can track thet they cash the check.

Download the instructions with the form, it is a separate download in most sites.

hi 'skparker' hope this could help you

Q #1 for I-485:just it leave it blank if you only living in the same address. Proceed to the next box.

#2 yes, that's right. It's the 11 digit and it's also called departure number.

#3 Nonimmigrant visa number can be found in your K-1 visa. It's an 8 digit and mine is highlighted and at the right side part of my visa.

I-765 Questions

Q# 16 if you came here on K-1 visa just fill it this way © (9)

17 © (3) © are those who are on F-1 student visa seeking optional practical training.

If I were you, better apply for I-131 called advanced parole as it's free when applying I-485. You can use that just in case of emergency that you need to go home before your green card will be approved. God Bless on your AOS journey.

I have a question, do I have to wait for my husband's social security card before applying for AOS? We've applied over a month ago and we have not received it yet. Also, what is this A# that they keep asking about on the forms?

You can apply for AOS without SSN or you can go to SSA Office and asked them to print his SSN.

you can apply for AOS without SSN but if you'll be including EAD in your AOS package, you need to indicate your SSN there.

if you applied for SSN and it's not yet mailed, then bring your SSN receipt in SSA, and ask your number.

they will print a copy with your name and SSN.

i applied SNN last may 5 and went back the following day to have my number since we're planning to send the AOS package with EAD and AP next week.
