Hi all I am new to this site. My mom self petitioned as an abused spouse of a USC in 2006 and was approved in 2007. We sent in our DS230 last year in September and got an RFE for 3 police certificates. While we were waiting for some documents one expired so we sent in the ones that were still valid and prepared to get the next one. When it arrived we sent it without the checklist because we called and they said we could. When I call the automated system it keeps giving me different dates for example once it said your package has been reviewed and documents are missing and it keeps telling me different dates once it said March 31 then April 1 then April 23 and today April 28. When I called last week one operator said the new document was not recieved by them and then the line cut and I called again and another operator said it was there and we should call back in 15 days so why is the system still saying some documents are missing? I'm sorry if I'm rambling I'm in a hurry. Hope you can help me. Thanks

Hi there! I'm really not sure if I can help, but I think you may have posted this in the wrong forum and I'd like to move it to another forum so you can get better replies. I assume your mother has filed an I-360 under VAWA. It's not a terrific fit, but I am moving this to the Effect of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits forum where I know there are others going through this process.

Good luck, and I hope we can help you! :)

They automated system is not accurate all the time. It give a response to the last entry, but does not necessarily mean it was received.

You should never mail anything in to NVC without a cover letter stating your case number. They will not tend to this material right away, since they have to look up the information. It might go into a pile of unidentified documents until someone gets to them.

I called them again and the lady told me they had recieved the document and that it is presently in review. I didn't put the checklist but I did put a cover letter that had the case number on it. Now I'm just keeping my finers crossed.
