I love kitties. This is my second favourite VJ thread ever.

I assume your favorite was the Llama thread.

That's certainly my favorite!

For all who have not seen it, definitely worth going through the whole thing. It's a riot.

No, not that one. This is my number 1 all time favourite VJ thread.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=118828

It starts off fairly innocuous and mundane but gets better. Post number 44 is my particular favourite. :D

Now I'm going to have to go and read the llama thread out of sheer curiosity.

Ok, read it. Funny. I prefer the llamas, personally. Maybe because I'm Canadian (amongst my many identities).

Now, on to the important business of hateful images of kittens.

(Wouldn't the OP of this thread be surprised to see what his 'Gary & Alla' post has turned into? I wonder what Gary thinks of having his name associated with this absurd result?)

The llama thread is hilarious, I admit. However, I have to keep my loyalty with the UK and the postage thread is still my number 1 favourite.

This is the saddest looking kitty every. :(

You realize you're just goading me into doing this? I don't really have anything against kittens, but I do have something against saccharine sweetness

Disagree.

Gary is very informative and knowledgeable. I enjoy reading his postings.

But he can be very quarrelsome and argumentative and gets into long ongoing rants with others on the boards. Most famously with RJ, but even with moderators (happened recently with elmcitymaven).

The purpose of a mod is to be a calming voice and to keep the peace. Gary is simply not a good choice for that. He doesn't have the instinct for neutrality. E.g. how could he possibly "moderate" a thread that got onto the subject of immigration lawyers?

Nope. Vote against.

I suspect Gary would not vote for Gary either.

LOL. I didn't know this thread was here until someone sent me a PM and I shall keep it confidential for their own protection. :)

I am flattered that some people think I would be a good moderator because I think the moderators in general keep the site as good as it is, and it certainly is good. If my opinions would prevent me from being a good moderator...so it is. I do express my opinions sometimes. I really just try to help others that have are doing the same thing we (Alla and I) did. I won't be arguing with RJ anymore since it will do not good, and since I ignored her posts I have no idea what she says anyway. I could make an experienced guess. LOL But hey, I would prbably buy her a coffee somewhere if there were no attorneys around to record the conversation.

If my opinions offend someone, oh well, they are just opinions. And perhaps I do go overboard sometimes. Maybe I should just state the opinion and go on and leave anyone free to disagree. After all their opinions are just as meaningful (or not) as mine. But it is a great site, and Pushbrk above (not without controversy himself) was a great help to me when I was a "newbie" not so long ago, and continues to be along with many others.

And now I see the thread has taken a turn toward cats and llamas or armadillos or something which is probably just as well. Oh, and we have a cat, Casiopia, Cashia, for short.

Thanks all. I'll try to help and will occasionally give an opinion with my advice.

And to all those frustrated with waiting and red tape and seeming nonsense...hang in there. It is all worth it and when your SO is here it will be just a blur anyway. Never lose sight of how hard you worked to be together and never take for granted that now you are together.

VERMONT! I Reject Your Reality...and Substitute My Own!

Gary And Alla

Ah bless. Isn't that sweet?

You really don't know me at all, Gary. I'd appreciate it if you'd stop trying to paint me as some sort of ogre. It's not like I follow you around, you know. We have an area of discourse we disagree about. ONE area. Period. It's kind of funny actually. I'm sure you are completely oblivious to the main reason I've taken you to task on this topic.

But if you take me off ignore - I'll give you a hint. But you have to ask Captain to answer the riddle.

What do the initials UPL and MU have in common?

;)

I guess that the point I am trying to make is there should be equal representation of male and female opinion. we do not have that!!!

I don't understand this post at all.
