Urgent info needed: regarding travel abroad with GC approval notice

Hi,

a few days back, I got a letter that my green card application has been approved. However I do not have the G.C.

yet. They mentioned that this would be mailed in about 3 weeks. I am leaving the country tomorrow and will be back in about 3 weeks (just around the time that my G.C. will arrive in the mail). I do have an advance parole document which will allow me to re-enter the country.

My question is while returning at the port of entry, do I need to stand in the immigration or non-immigration line?

Should I show the approval letter to the immigration officer at the port of entry (as well as to the airlines while check-in)? Is the G.C. approval letter a valid proxy for the actual green card? Could you let me know or point me to

some FAQ which address this question?

Searching the internet did not help.

also immediate responses are very much appreciated (as I am leaving the country tomorrow)

Thanks very much

You can stand in any line - I generally pick the shortest line and never have been questioned. Secondly your Advance Parole document will allow you to enter the country (Hopefully you do not have any overstays, otherwise people advice against traveling without a greencard). Good Luck

Have someone check your mail as the GC may come in a few days. They told us 3 weeks and we got it in 4 days.
