Oo nga pala, I want to share you guys this book that I am reading every night before I go sleep. It is a good book saka halos inexplain na lahat dito at ang kagandahan pa ay inexplain cya in "layman's term" at hindi yung ibang klase ng book na puro medical terms na mahihilo ka sa kakaintindi

Found new stretchmarks on my sides....haaay...I guess this is gonna be a bigger baby than Alec was. With Alec, my tummy wasn't too big but it turned out that my tummy was basically ALL baby. Of course, the cold weather the past couple of weeks didn't help; madali kasi mag-dry skin ko, even with lotions/creams.

And yes, that book is quite well-written. They have a website www.whattoexpect.com. I signed up for their weekly thingy. Try Gerber's site, too.

nag lalatch naman si baby kaso nga konti yong lumalabas kaya nagagalit sya hehehe. eh yong asawa ko naman wag ko daw pilitin kung walang nalabas kasi kawawa daw ang anak nya. buti na lang meron kaming free sample na gatas yon muna ginagamit namin. ok lang ba yon kung iba ibang brand? dede naman sya ng dede kahit ano kaso lang nag alala ako kasi nga iba -iba.

medyo nawala na yong jaundice nya ...dalawang araw na namin syang pina arawan so hopefully completely mawala nato...medyo hilom na rin yong kanyang circumcision:) binata na sya hehehe.

teka sino na ba ang susunod na mangingitlog?

Hi Evelyn, ganyan di ako dati konti lang lumalabas na milk nong nag-umpisa akong magpa-breastfeed kaya medyo na guilt ako nun ksi iyak ng iyak ang baby ko. Kaya option namin bumili kami ng breastpump the more kasi na ipa-pump mo sya makakatulong sya sa raming supply ng breastmilk mo at working talaga.At ganun din kami dati try namin ang free sample ng milk sguro mga dalawang beses namin ginawa yon kc iyak ng iyak talaga sya pero after a couple days na nag-pump ako dumadami na breastmilk ko. I still tried to breastfeed him kahit 3 times a day lang para tuloy tuloy yong milk ko. After nya dumede sakin binibigyan ko pa rin sya ng bottle kasi kawawa naman na matutulog na gutom. Sana nga tuloy na tuloy na....kasi iba pa rin yong breastfeed.

Ganun din ako pero if di umiiyak si baby after nya dumede sayo hayaan mo lang kontento na sya pero if iiyak sya try mo parin syang e-breastfeed kc nga mag-supply parin ng gatas yong breat mo khit si baby dumidede. Pero try mo talaga ang pump work talaga. Totoo maganda ang breasfeed kc makatulog sa immune system ng anak mo at di daw sakitin sabi din yan ng Doctor ko. Good Luck!

10 days old palang sa baby today. Yon nga din ang iniisip ko kaya gusto ko breastfeed kasi mas healthy and beside walang gastos sa gatas hehehhhe. Malakas kasi sya dumede sa bottle eh..lalo na sa gabi parang every 1 hr yata eh gusto dumede lang ng dumede. Kahit medyo masakit mag pump go pa rin ako.

Hi Riza. Once lang nagpadala ang Similac sa akin, at nagamit namin. Ang marami e ung Enfamil checks/coupons na napadala ko na kay sweetpink kahapon. Ang meron na lang dito sa akin e ung Good Start. Wala pa akong plan to stop nursing so di ko din magagamit mga coupons. In case makareceive ako ng Similac coupon/checks send ko sa'yo.

Hi aki! Actually we thought of switching to Good Start. Right now, mini-mix namin ang Similac at Good Start, preparing the baby for the new brand. I have Enfamil coupons na di nagagamit. So, hindi mo na binibigyan si Jilian ng formula?

Bago pediatrician nya kasi di kami satisfied do'n sa unang pediatrician. Sabi ng doktor, as much as possible at least daw hanggang 6 months ang breastfeeding dahil mas malaki ang tyansa na di magkaka-food allergy ang baby.

Bago pediatrician nya kasi di kami satisfied do'n sa unang pediatrician. Sabi ng doktor, as much as possible at least daw hanggang 6 months ang breastfeeding dahil mas malaki ang tyansa na di magkaka-food allergy ang baby.

Yon nga eh...kahit 6 months lang sana basta ma breastfeed ko si Jacob kasi iba pa rin yong nutrients ng human milk. Ang problema 2 days na ako na merong hives (not sure with the spelling) super ang lalaki tsaka ang kakapal sa balat ko. Hubby wants me to take Syrtec...ang ginagawa ko pina pump ko yong milk ko tapos tinatapon ko na lang para tuloy-tuloy yong supply. Tomorrow my emergency appt din kami for the baby kasi gawa ng pusod nya..para kasing may amoy..tigas kasi ang ulo ng asawa ko sabi wag paliguan hanggat hindi natatanggal ang pusod aba paliguan ba naman hayyyy...

Did my 3-hour glucose test. 4 needlesticks later, I was ravenous...had not had anything (save for about 5 glasses of water after taking that sweet drink) for about 14 hours I received a call the next day and I was told that I had wierd results. My fasting was about 95mg/dl, my first hour was 145mg/dl (Normal), but my 2nd hour shot up to 182mg/dl (High) then my 3rd hour was down to 126mg/dl (Normal). So what happens next? They are having me test my glucose 4 times daily for at least a week (on my insistence....they wanted me to test for a whole month!) to see how my body handles glucose loads on a daily basis. Ordered a glucometer at the pharmacy plus the test strips. Insurance only would cover the test strips and lancets, but not the machine, which was fine with us. A 50-pc box of test strips was like $65. We declined the lancets as we have access to those, and thankfully the machine was on a mark-down sale from $74.95 to $19.95. So...I've started today, stidking myself and taking my blood sugar first thing in the morning then 2 hours after every meal. If all goes well, I can have my usual diet/cravings. If not, strict diet. If still bad, drug therapy. Does not stop me from having my occasional ice-cream and sugar-free champorado

Effects of continuously elevated blood sugar on the baby: baby may be macrosomic (big), hypoglycemic and hence hyporesponsive to stimuli at birth. Have not observd that with Maizy...she remains ever-so-kulit, kicking, pushing and elbowing her way around my tummy.

Oh...had an episode of really bad nearly-sciatica-like pain on my right hip down to my knee last night, I just had to lay down on my left side with my right leg flexed a bit. Hubby was sweet enough to lay down beside me and massage my hip and thigh which was somehow soothing. He has forbidden me to go down to the basement to do the laundry, saying he'd do it himself (and he is working today and over the weekend too). I don't really know which is worse...the carpal-tunnel syndrome I had when I was having Alec, or this bad back pains with Maizy

Visited the birthing center last Wednesday. Very nice set-up and very secure...babies do get kidnapped while in the hospital I think the only place with a similar birthing set-up in the Phils is at the Asian Hospital, and they only started that a few years ago. Now I really can't wait...just about 9 weeks more to go

Hi Doc Gracey..sorry to hear about your glucose test but im hoping na sana everything is OK with you. Siatica nerve pain is not so nice. Right now I have a carpal-tunnel syndrome...which is very painfull i can't even lift up Jacob's butt when changing his diaper. I need to wear the wrist band.

Eh I have a funny experienced during my discharge in the hospital..the nurse who escorted me and baby out of the hospital forgot to take off my baby and my security band, nong pasakay na kami ng elevator biglang nag panic signal yong elevator..takbuhan yong mga security guard and the whole hospital was locked down kasi nga akala nila ninakaw ko yong baby buti na lang inamin nong nurse na kasalanan kasi nga nakalimutan nya na naka security band pa kami.

Your carpal-tunnel will go away after a few more days. Ask your doc about pain-relievers that you can take even if breastfeeding.

My 2-hour post-meal levels have been fine so far. Do I go completely sugar-free? Not! Testing again in about 20 mins. My back pain has returned tonight...is frustrating, really. At least the laundry isn't so wrinkled...

Well, after a supper of mashed potatoes, buttered corn, steak, and mocha mudslide ice cream (yummy!!!!), my post-prandial sugar was just 100mg/dl...way below the cut-off So...on to saging na saba with milk.......and another testing day tomorrow...
