hello...i also have a question regarding about that WIC...i keep on asking my husband to apply WIC (just to save a little) but he doesnt want because he worries about my 'immigration' status...he dont want to apply any government programs like medicare, WIC and others because remember that our spouses signed an affidavit of support and that we will not be a burden of the state when we applied K1 (or K3) and also AOS.

and my husband keep on telling me to give it to other women of families who are really needing it and not because its free i have to take advantage of it....

but i still want to apply...hehehehe

so is there anyone here had a problem with immigration papers when they applied for WIC?

Hi,Me and my husband applied for WIC before I file my AOS.I didnt encounter problem about my immigration status.I was worried about it before that maybe USCIS will deny my application so i researched a lot of times about WIC and I found out that it is not one of the means-tested public benefits written on I-864P ( means-tested benefits are SCHIP,SSI and TANF ).

Health Department asked my husband's recent pay stub and proof of residency.They approved us even his income is above poverty guidelines.They checked my daughter's eyes,teeth,height and weight and she had her blood test too.They found out that my daughter is very healthy.The person there explained us about WIC and gave us nutritional information on how she (our daughter) will maintain healthy.After that,they gaved us WIC card and 3 checks every month for cheese,peanut butter,milk in gallon,cereal,juice and now they gave us coupons which cost $4 each coupons to shop at farmer's market.It's really good because thay way we can save a little.

WIC is not only for people who have nothing or who really needs public assistance.It is about nutrition for pregnant women,infants and children 1yr old to 5yrs old.

Ala namang masama sa WIC kasi hindi naman ibig sabihin na kung nakapasa ka eh walang wla kana talaga. May poverty guideline din kasi sila tsaka nasa kanila na rin yun kung ipapasa ka o hindi.

Yes we do have insurance.They just asked if we have health insurance and we said yes and we told them it's a private health insurance.They just ask the insurance company name.

Yes we do have insurance.They just asked if we have health insurance and we said yes and we told them it's a private health insurance.They just ask the insurance company name.

Ayos lang kung may health insurance ka, makakapasa ka pa rin as long as mas mababa income nyo sa guideline nila. Ex. for household of 3, gross annual income should be less than $33,874 (ikaw, asawa mo, baby kahit nasa tyan palang). Tinatanong lang nila kung meron kang Medicaid kasi kung meron ka nun, automatic pasado na.

Nag apply kami 3 weeks ago, laking tulong talaga ang WIC. Hindi lang nagbibigay sila ng check para makabili ng mga pagkain, meron din silang seminar na pupuntahan para matutunan ang tamang nutrisyon para sa buntis at sa anak hanggang mag 5 yrs old.

Mga dinala namin:

- last paycheck/paystub ng asawa ko

- utility bill (electric) na nakapangalan sakin at sa asawa ko patunay na resident kami ng state na tinitirhan namin

- dinala ko ung baby namin (i check lang timbang at haba)

- nagdala ako ng ID at SSN pero d na tinanong sakin- dala pa rin kayo in case

Kung buntis palang:

- dala ng papeles na proof na positive pregnant ka

- pwede din siguro magdala ng kahit anong bill na nakapangalan sayo para alam nila na resident ka

Para makapag-apply:

- tumawag sa WIC office sa lugar nyo at mag pa set ng appointment date and time

(((magtatanong lang ng basic info like name, address, birthdate)))

Pagpunta sa WIC office:

- hindi naman necessary na kasama asawa nyo kasi ikaw (buntis/nanay) ang mag apply. WIC (Women, Infants, and Children)

- punta agad sa front desk, hingi ng application form (sa buntis/nanay- kulay green ang application form) (sa baby- kulay yellow application form)

- saguatan lahat ng tanong tapos ibigay sa front desk staff tapos tatawagin ka ng nutrition specialist

- punta lang sa opisina nila, i type necessary information sa computer system nila, tapos hingi ung mga document patunay na eligible ka, tapos papipirmahin ka, then bibigyan ka ng tseke at WIC folder.

- may mga seminar na dapat puntahan so kelangan umattend ka para d ka matanggalan ng benefit.

ang interview magtatagal lang ng 10-20 minutes. :-D

so early in the morning nasermonan ako ng hubby ko kasi di raw healthy kinakain ko...kasi naman at work puro na lang shrimp purse yung kinakain ko and deep fry kasi sabi ng hubby ko oh so your drinking oil again ha...hehehehhe...paiyak iyak naman ako...but when my hubby said i just care so much about you thats how much i love you i want you to be healthy ay bigla akong natawa...hehehhe

pero sabi ng hubby ko okay lang daw mcdo basta di lang everyday...yehey...ang saya saya...hahahhahaha...amew talaga ako.

I get my cheese deep dish pizza with decaf diet rootbeer when I want it without the guilt. Same goes for my ice cream and my 98% fat-free decaf Yoo-hoo, as well my Hershey's choco. But not all the time . Some fat is actually good for the baby as it helps the nervous system function well. The connections between nerve cells are actually wrapped in fat for faster stimulus conduction to and from the brain. You may want to try some fish oil caplets if you want to cut down on your fat intake. That way, the baby still gets the fat he needs

Pinagbawalan na rin ako ng asawa ko na kumain ng isda kasi mataas daw sa mercury..nag tatake na lang ako fish oil every other day. Bawal na din pork...pero chocolate ok lang hehehe. I'm already 108 lbs...gusto ko 115 lang weight ko hanggang sa manganak ako.so far i gained 26 lbs..siguro di na masama yan.

No more fast food na rin ako... for a month now..siguro till na manganak hayyyyy...

Naku wag masyadong i-stress ang sarili at baka manganak ka ng alanganin nyan. Ako from the start of my pregnancy kain baboy talaga ako. Nong medyo maliit pa yong tyan ko..ok lang kasi sarap ng feeling..ngayon na malaki na tapos ang dami kp kinain sumasakit kasi na-iistretch masyado...sinisisi ko yong asawa ko kasi sabi ko sa kanya dapat pigilan nya ako na wag kumain ng marami.

About contraction...sani ng Dr. ko normal lang daw to feel contractions sa ganyang weeks....wag lang daw palagi and mag last ng 25 minutes kasi iba na daw yan. So far I don't feel anything at all. Even my blood pressure is OK and so as my protein and sugar

Nothing wrong with the occasional fast food burger and fries. I have only gained about 2 pounds since last month. Am supposed to gain at least 30-35 lbs throughout my entire pregnancy. So far, i am far from half of that. Certain fish like albacore tuna is high in mercury daw but it doesn't mean that I should refrain from fish...although I have not been fond of fish much since I found out I was pregnant. I do enjoy my sushi (just the salmon or the imitation crab ones) when I can get it.

Just finished a serving of cheesy tortellini....so yummy!!!

No,they didn't require that both of us ( me and husband ) need to appear but we went together since we applied WIC for our daughter.

First tumawag muna kmi sa kanila to ask the requirements.Then nagpa-appointment na din.

They told us to bring my husband's latest pay stub,utility bill as proof of residency and our daughter.

Then at the appointment day,they just gave us a forms and told to fill up while asking us some questions.Check my daughter's height,weight,teeth and blood test.Then told us some health information about nutrition and that's it.Gave us a WIC card and checks and told us to come back on the date written on the card to pick up checks for the next month.

hallow, nakapasa na po ako sa WIC we reapplied and then ayun nagOK na. Binigyan nila ako ng 4 checks every month tapos meron na akong checks that is good til Oct. Bali nakalist dun sa checks kung ano yung mga pwede lang naa bilhin ( cereals, milk, cheese, peanut butter or beans, juice etc.) Kahit maliit eh tulong pa rin yun kahit papaano hehe.

Haaay....just finished 4 slices of pizza...so yummy indeed!!!! :D

Carefree, tama si jewellyn at bluemist sundin mo lang ang step ni jewellyn at kahit hindi rin kasama hubby mo since ikaw naman na mom/pregnant ang applicant. basta ang importante ay present ang applicant saka si baby.

Sweet_wifey, yan din ang kinakabahan ko na baka maliit si baby ko. kasi i am 18weeks or 4 and half months now pero ang ni gain ko pa lang is 7 pounds Sabi ni OB ang importante ay naggagain ako ng pounds every month. pero ang ginigain ko lang is 1 lb or sometimes 2 lbs eh pero last month naka 3 1/2 lbs ako Hindi rin kasi ako tabain kahit noong di pa ako buntis pero ngaying buntis ako eh wala akong care kahit tumaba ako basta gusto ko eh hindi nmn kulang sa timbang baby ko.

Nung hindi ako buntis eh hindi ako mahilig sa chichiria pero now eh mejo napapadalas alam ko hndi maganda yun pero minsan lang naman eh minsan bibili na lang kami nung fries tapos kami na lang magde-deep fry sa bahay saka nahihilig din ako sa chocolates. Sabi ni OB ko oklang daw ang fats kasi kailangan din ng body natin yan basta wag lang daw sosobra hehe. I walked with my hubby yester for 2 1/2 miles hehe. My goal now is to walk everyday at least 2 miles kaya lang umaambon now so I don't know kung makakapaglakad ako.
