Mommies did your Dr. check your sugar?

I have a high sugar. But they said that it is really common for preggy woman.

I am hoping I am not diabetic.

We tried to check if I am diabetic but I cannot drink the 100 mg of the ( orange juice) it is called Protul.

Hi sweet wifey,

Yeah my Dr. checked my sugar when I was 12 weeks and everything was ok. They said they gonna check my sugar again on my 28 weeks after drinking that glucose something I'm not sure what its called. I think they called it gestational diabetes...yeah its normal but they still to monitor you also, if ever you have a high sugar and you have to watch what you are eating .

Hi sweetpink,

Yeah constipation is discomforting too. Tried to eat water melon, eating water melon helps me. Maybe this will help you too. Yeah peeing really annoying hehhehehe. I'm taking prenatal vitamins and I'm glad i found one that smell good..it smell like strawberry :) My blood is normal so I guess I don't need to take extra iron. Hey btw..don't you get UTI from eating dried fish most of the time?

Evelyn

I had a bad UTI 5 years ago and I was afraid that it might came back while being pregnant but every prenatal visit I have my OB always monitor my urine and everything is perfectly fine. I just had to make sure to empty my bladder right away if I feel the urge to pee and drinking plenty of water helps to cleanse your system.

My blood pressure is normal too but as the baby grows older inside of you he/she absorbs more calcium and iron from your body so you need an extra supplement.

Cranberry juice is really good for cleaning your system esp with UTI.... also pomegranate juice. hmmm....

I used to like drinking it but since pregnant, i don't know... because i've really been having bad heartburn... and i feel like it worsens it when i drink it. What they say here in US, when you have a lot of heartburn while pregnant, that the baby is hairy... hehehehe...

Congrats to us all who are pregnant!

Now in my 28 weeks going 29 weeks on Friday. I don't have any pains nor difficulties with my pregnancy... well except for minor morning sickness at the first trimester which wasn't too bad. Right now, really bad heartburn but just last week, my doctor already gave me a medicine that really works for me... Zantac, twice in the morning and twice at night. I can't believe I have put up with heartburn for the last 2 months!!! I've never really had any heartburn while i was in Pinas... Also i am just noticing rashes coming up only on my arms... and from time to time on my belly. I don't wanna scratch it, as i don't want to leave marks. It looks kinda like small insect bites, weird, it only appears on the arms.. I have read that for some mommies-to-be, it is normal to have it though not usual for all moms. I would have to ask my doctor what i could take for that... but as much as possible, I don't want to take medicines for every pain or discomfort i feel, lest might be bad for my baby... afraid of side effects. So i just wash it with warm water and soap to make it feel better. Lately too, having occassional back pain, and cramps while sleeping... have to eat lots of bananas... discomfort while sleeping but my husband bought me body pillows and we couldn't find pregnancy pillows which really helps. I didn't really ask for it but i thought it was really sweet. My husband said that I am very moody though, i don't feel that way though... Overall, I feel great with my pregnancy. I am still working, sometimes i forget that I am pregnant... except that it's very obvious because my tummy is really big... huge!... hehehe... From the last ultrasound that I had, they said the baby is 25% bigger than normal!... I've always received comments like "you're not thinking about natural birth are you?" or "ohhh... you're so small, you're all tummy", or "ohhh... i didn't know you were pregnant until now"- this is because i only started showing when i was in my 4-5 months... 5 months definitely my belly just went big... it's like an overnight thing. That's why we also didn't know that I was pregnant until i was 8 weeks as i had bleeding, i thought was still menstruating on the first two months, but it went away after a few months.

Right now... i am still working and no problems at all...

Ohhhh... we haven't come up with a baby's name though... I am really not very good with naming.... heheheh

What will you have? I am having a baby boy!!! our very first!!!....

We don't know the gender of our baby yet. But if its a girl I have to name it and if its a boy my hubby is the incharge but then I have to agree with it :D

I ate dried fish once only and fish once in a while. No pork at all. Hubby is a bit strict with it.

Sweet Pink,

I don't know why my Dr. told me that Prenatal vitamins is enough. She never prescribed me to take some other supplement. As I've said I'm bit disappointed with my Dr so I'm thinking of im gonna look for another one.

Wow so many new mom here to be soon. Keep posted mommies,

Evelyn

I just called the hospital this morning and they scheduled me June 3rd. I was hoping I'll get an earlier schedule than that. The woman I spoke with told me to take Flinstone's Chewable Vitamins lol! At first I was shocked and I turned out to be happy. I was shocked caz I thought it was only for kids and I was happy caz I have been wanting to take that vitamins since I was a kid (my mom always give us vitamins syrup and not flinstone's)lol! We went to CVS right away to buy flinstone's and then hubby and I bought prenatal vitamins and calcium tablets too.

I am drinking prune juice naman for my constipation problem. Hay! I can't wait to be seen by an OB/GYN hehe.

Hi Pink,

How come your schedule is too far? You are 6 weeks preggy right. So its like they gonna see you on your 13 or 14 weeks. It would be nice if you can have a schedule sooner. Just be ready for some blood test then. Had my first prenatal schedule when I was 6 weeks preggy. This coming May 15 is my 3rd prenatal visits already. June 8 is my general ultrasound where they do all the measurements of the baby and check if everything is ok.And another prenatal visit on June 15.I'm getting both excited and nervous at they same time. Hey maybe I could try that flintones vitamins too hehhehehe..its looks yummy.

Stay healthy and enjoy every moment of being pregnant!

Thanks for reminding me that body pillow  . I badly need one of those because I am having hard time getting some sleep.

Evelyn

Oo nga eh! I want to be seen as early as possible pero alang vacant sked yung OB/GYN. I am trying to look for other OB/GYN din because maybe I could get an earlier sked sa kanila. But this OB/GYN that I am scheduled is already trusted and recommended by my in-laws kaya doon ako magpapacheck-up. Yung 6 weeks na yun eh ako lang nagbilang at nagassume nun lol!
