Do we need the partida de bautismo and W2s???

Hi guys,

Thought we were all organized with paperwork, but then I made the mistake of browsing around VJ, which always freaks me out.

My fiance doesn't have a baptismal certificate. I don't remember if he wasn't baptized or if it's not possible to get. (He's out of the country until Wed so I can't ask him at the moment.)

Is this crucial?? In the packet from the embassy, it says "suggested". He does have his folio birth certificate. He has never been married.

I seriously doubt we have time to get it if if exists or to a notary to do the certificate of non-baptism before next Monday and he can't take any more days off work for this visa stuff. Are we ok?

Also, we have a co-sponsor for the I-134 since I live and work in Colombia. Do we also need the co-sponsor's W-2s, or are the last 3 years of tax forms sufficient?? I told her just tax forms and that is all she has sent!! Do I also need MY W2s for my own I-134?

Thanks VJers.....

Are you using this instead of a birth certificate? If not - then no, it's not needed.

Ah! so you have a birth certificate - so the other is not needed.

Yes - on this question.

You need 1040/w/2/1099's as applicable for the years in question (for all sponsors). If you send tax transcripts (recommended) they have all the info needed (IRS can fax them to you in 20 mins or so).

Thanks VJers.....

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Try asking the question here as these members have been through this embassy :)Colombia Club II

Can any Colombians weigh in on the partida de bautismo? I doubt we can get it, but I want to know if that is important.

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?
