Why...WHY do people not understand that we cannot advocate something on VJ that could be illegal? And what's with the "don't listen to people who adjusted from a K1 because they don't understand your situation"?!?!??!

That is one version of the etymology. Another is that it is an intentional mispelling. There are a many many purposely mispelled words in 1337 speek. pRon, phishing, phreaking; etc.
