:) Update:

I got my biometrics appointment letter in the mail on Monday. It's scheduled for the 18th, which seems to be pretty fast? (I think) However, it's all the way in Durhum, NC, which is a good three hour drive from us. I had thought about trying to go early, but I'm not sure I want to risk a wasted 6 hour round trip. No RFEs yet either, so I'm hoping that's a good sign. We're really hoping that my AP documents get processed before the end of July (Fingers crossed) so that we can make a trip up to Canada before my husband starts medschool in the fall.

That's the other thing... We are moving in 16 days, and I'm a little bit nervous about the interview. I've read horror stories about cases being closed for "Missing the interview" when in reality they had moved and therefore canceled that interview at that location and asked for it to be rescheduled. (properly even... it was a mistake on the other end). If they set up an interview for us down in NC again, but after we've moved... the three hour drive becomes more like a 20 hour drive... :S And I don't think I want to risk canceling it.

Thanks for all your encouragement! And good luck and prayers to all those May filers!

i'm done with my biometrics last june 2 even it is scheduled on the 13th!

i took the risk of visiting the office earlier since we'll be in vegas on the 13th.

and luckily, san marcos, CA office do accept walk-ins. they didn't even bother to check my appointment date..

so it took me less than 20 minutes. all the employees are very nice and works pretty fast.

i'm so happy and relieved....

feeling very lucky that the office is not strict with appointment dates.

and now that i'm done with my biometrics!

Vegas here we come!

That's really fast! Congratulations!

I had my biometrics on May 28th and haven't heard anything yet but everything is at the National Benefits Center and not at a service center so not sure if it will take longer there.

New to this website so I'll get my visajourney up on here when I work out how!

Got the RFE dated 6/11/2009

My husband needs to file form I-864 (his parent's are sponsoring us, and we didn't realize that he needed to fill out that form as well)

We need evidence that his parent's are U.S. citizens.

Any advice on what to send as evidence of U.S. citizenship?

In other news: I had my biometrics appointment last Thursday, and it went well. The technician that worked with me was very friendly and instantly put me at ease. It took the normal 20ish minutes (nice and fast) to get through security, check in (two different places... almost missed the second one) and get the fingerprints done. The only negative part of the whole deal was the fact that it was a good 3+ hours drive there, and a good 3+ hours drive back.
