MY GIRLFRIENDS LIVES IN MANILA AND I LIVE IN L.A. IM GOING TO SEE HER SOMETIME BETWEEN JULY-AUGUST. WE DO WANT TO GET MARRIED, ITS A BIG STEP BUT WE DO. WHEN I GET BACK I'M GOING TO FILE THE PETITION, SO MY QUESTION IS, WHEN IM OVER THERE DO I NEED TO GET ANYTHING FROM HER TO MAKE THINGS GO SMOOTHER? SOME OF THE I-129F STILL CONFUSES ME. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT EXACTLY TO DO AND SEND, AND WHAT TO FILL OUT CORRECTLY. I MAY ALSO NEED TO GET A CO-SPONSOR TOO. SO IF SOMEONE HAS ALREADY GONE THROUGH THIS PROCESS BEFORE OR IS ABOUT TO BE FINISHED WITH THE PROCESS CAN YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I ALSO WANT TO DO THIS IN A, HOPEFULLY, TIMELY FASHION. I'VE SEEN SOME OF THE TIMELINES WHERE IT TOOK ON AVERAGE 7 MONTHS AND LUCKIEST BEING 6 MONTHS, I WOULD LOVE THE SAME RESULT. SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW, THANK YOU.

IT CAN BE PRIVATE MESSAGES TOO.

1st tip- turn the caps lock off. CAPS ON A MESSAGE BOARD IS YELLING

2nd tip- read this its very helpful. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1guide

3rd tip- read this. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;page=examples

4th tip- be very careful looking for answers in PM, if you get bad advise in PM noone can correct it.

5th tip- be specific with your questions. what parts of the I-129f are you having problems with?

6th tip- be patient. it will seem like an eternity for you to complete this process. but, it will happen just be patient.

take several pics together & remember the date/place/who is in the pics, you'll need them & the info later.

print out the forms & go over the info w/ your SO prior to your trip. fill them out & print them along w/ your letters of intent. that way all you need to do is each of you sign & date them.

Main things to get while there are photos obviously with her as proof you met in person, the signed by her G-325 ( All 4 copies ) and passport style picture of her with white back ground ... I can't think of anything else you need to get while there for the initial application.

Have you meet your girlfriend in person yet?

If not I suggest to go to PI and go to different cities by your self and look around and see what you find.

in our experience we sent our K1 forms to Vermont and they returned it to us. They said they want the original signature, but we did. the fault was we signed it using black pen. So we have to resend them back. caused a month delay.

maybe it will depend on who will handle your papers.

Black is the correct color to use.

Color Black is the standard for business and govt. forms......

oo

Ding, Ding, Ding We have a Winner

Only if he has never met her in person.

If it his first meeting it would serve him best and whomever his eventual Fiance is better, if he knows what is out there, and doesn't settle for the first girl you talk to on the net, nor fall for the first girl you actually meet in person.

Be fair to himself and see what the world has to offer..........

Very important are the photos of you together, the signed G325 (all 4 forms), hotel receipts or plane tickets of both of you, 2 passport size photos of her, and the signed Letter of Intent to marry within 90 days. The advice that says taking a photo holding a newspaper with the dates very visible is a very good one.
