Those who have had their interview and were approved what did you take as evidence of a bonafide relationship?

I have collected everything that has bothof our names on it but I don't think it is enough.

I gave copies of our wedding pictures, copy of the car insurance with both names, bank account statement with both our names, lease document with both our names and it was way enough for them :)

Juliette,

That's what I was worried about!

We don't have health insurance becuause here in New York we simply can't afford it my best quote has been $900+ a month! We have no lease document because we are staying with my husbands parents until we can afford to buy a house and our car is in his father's name because our insurance on that would be something ridiculous too!

All we really have is a bank account from here in the States, I added hubby to my Australian bank account and then we have receipts for our wedding rings with both names on them, a receipt for the puppy we bought together (bth of our names are on it), vet bills that have bnoth our names and I am not sure if we have anything else. I have been trying to think but I am sure we don't

I was thinking of going to rent a centre and having us both get something there or opening another bank account. I can't get a credit card here I don't have a job and my SO has been denied because he has no credit

I don't know what to do.

11/18/08 - Arrived in U.S. on B2 visa

02/05/09 - Extended return plane ticket to stay for an extra 3 months

04/23/09 - Decided we didn't want to be apart even though we extended the stay and got married!

04/30/09 - Sent I-130/I-485/I-765 from B2 (no I-693 as it is not yet complete.)

05/03/09 - Received email form USPS stating that package had arrived safely and was signed for!

05/11/09 - Received NOA1's for I-130/I-485/I-765

05/16/09 - Received Biometrics Appointment

05/30/09 - Received a CRAZY amount of RFE's that were dated 05/21/09

06/01/09 - Biometrics Appointment Scheduled. In and out in 10 minutes!! Sent off RFE information (Should arrive in MO on Wed.)

06/03/09 - USCIS received RFE response

07/23/09 - I called to have a service request put in

07/24/09 - I-765 Touched (FINALLY)

07/25/09 - I-765 CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED!!!!!!!! (About time!)

08/03/09 - EAD card came in the mail WOOHOO!!!

08/07/09 - Interview letter arrived

09/02/09 - Interview Date

09/07/09 - I think this is the day I received my Green Card.. Can't quite remember anymore.

Removal Of Conditions

08/03/11 - WOW it's already been TWO years! Sent ROC package to VSC.

08/05/11 - NOA1 date which arrived 8/10/2011

09/02/11 - Bio Appointment the notice was dated 8/12/11

Hi everybody (F) !

This morning we had our interview, everything went well, the officer was extremely nice, he went through my file, asked me some questions, if my address is still good and my phone number is current, I said yes, he asked when was the last time I came here and checked the previous visas k3 for me and k4 for my sons (made copies), also asked me some of the NO questions of the I-485 and I responded no, no, no to all of them, he asked if I was working and I said yes and hand to him a letter from my work, he ask me if he could keep the letter and I said yes,

He tried to make conversation to my sons and laughing at the same time, he asked how’s school and if they get in trouble, of course they answered nooo, he asked me for how long I was married and I answer that for 14 years, and how many times I have been married and I said.. just 1, then he turned around facing my kids, and told them that everything is over, that they now have a new start and they need to take care of their mom, I was almost in tears, I couldn’t believed that an officer can be a human being like us.

By the end he explain to me that after 2 years and 9 months from today I can apply to the citizenship with the form 1-400 and I can file the form I-600 (together with mine) for my youngest kid and he can get his citizenship through me without any text ( under 18 years ), my other son he needs to do the same than me because he is gonna be over 18, but that it will be fun to do it together, he said.

Then he gave me three letters one for each one of us saying the approval date (august 18, 09) class lf adjustment IB-6 for me and IB-8 for my kids and that the permanent resident card will be mailed to my address within 21 days

Best wishes for all of you!

Gabriela

We are also in a similar position. We have only a few things that are in joint name as well. My husband is the one who pays the bills at the moment as he is the one working, there is no sense in putting bills in my name when I do not have an income. We have been making an effort to get some photos done of the 3 of us together (I have a son) and also have printed some congratulations on your wedding day emails from friends and family back in the UK.

So both take strength from the fact you guys arent alone, but we will all get through this final obstacle. It will be apparent when we go for the interview that we are in love with our loved ones and this is all above board.

Good luck to all and thank you for your well wishes for Thursday.

Hey everybody!

I had my interview this morning and was approved! Even with all my overstay issues, it was a walk in the park. I had prepared 2 binders of documents and evidence of our relationship, and all I ahd to produce was our birthcertificates and our marriage certificate.

I will write a more complete report later - for now, you all, maybe better than anyone else, know how happy I feel!

It says on the interview letter that you have to show ID at the door before they will let you in the building for the interview. What kind of ID's did you guys show? I applied for a state ID over 5 weeks ago and it still hasn't arrived yet. My passport is in my old name and not new married name. Does that matter? Would it be ok to show the EAD as that is the most recent form of identification i have?

It says on the interview letter that you have to show ID at the door before they will let you in the building for the interview. What kind of ID's did you guys show? I applied for a state ID over 5 weeks ago and it still hasn't arrived yet. My passport is in my old name and not new married name. Does that matter? Would it be ok to show the EAD as that is the most recent form of identification i have?

Kiwiana

When I arrived to the Santa Ana Civic Center the security guards requested the Interview NOA, my Drivers License, and my husband's Drivers License.

I definitely believe the EAD will be a legit form of ID. They wont hold you at the door because you don't have your state ID. :]

Btw, when I went that morning I mistaken a white building Civic Center Tower Plaza with the actual Civic Center Plaza (missing the Tower) and parked there instead [oh well it's public parking, so it's ok : P] and had to run across the street to the actual Federal Building Civic Center Plaza. (LOL!)

Just FYI the actual Civic Center Plaza is a red-brown brick colored building w/ a big blue 34 Federal Building sign in the front of the entrance.

Btw, leave your cell phones in your car, 'cause they'll ask you to run back to your car and leave it there and back to the entrance. [didn't happen to us, but I read somebody's comment about bringing cell phones] save the trouble.

I brought a box of about 10 folders tabbed and a binder with 13 compartments as well as our 200 slot photo album.

The IO was a bit o.O and when we asked if she needed the pay stubs, employer's letter, letters from fam/friends she seemed extremely content with what we provided her and even said, " these... are all for me?!".

Hope this helps!

Hi Guys!!! WE WERE APPROVED!!!!!!

Here is a review of this morning!

We got there a little before 8, went through security and handed in our appointment letter.

Sometime around 8:20am we got called in by a young guy (at least he looked really young to me!) and lead us to his office.

We sworn in and he asked me all the typical questions to confirm the application

Then he asked my husband (the US citizen)

1) How did you meet

2) What did you do after you got married

3) Do you get along with her family

I had prepared A LOT of stuff because I wanted to make sure that everything went smooth. I also had an overstay and didn't want that to be an

issue and I was kinda shocked that he never asked for any of it! I really couldn't believe how easy it was going!

He DID ask for updated letter from my husbands work, took another copy of my passport and left the room for what felt like FOREVER but returned

shortly said we were approved( I made a little peep when he said that and he laughed saying he never gets over people's reactions when he says they are approved) He explained that I would get the 2 year card and how to removing conditions and that it's very important to make sure that I remember to do it because I wouldn't get another notice from them.

Then he said I'd get my card in 30 days and I was done! Shook our hands and said congrats!

Oh and before I left and I asked him if I could have the stamp and he said they usually don't give them out anymore but he did it for me anyways.

I'm so happy!!!! My husband and I sat in the car for 20 minutes just talking about the interview and how happy we were!

I really was in shock about the whole thing. I usually don't do well in interview type situations.

We went out to a nice lunch after and I couldn't contain myself and told the waitress who must have told the manager because he

brought us over a free dessert to share! :star:

I just wanted to make a quick note and let future people know, don't be nervous. Everyone here loves their spouses and have nothing

to hide. Regardless if you have an overstay, just trust in your relationship, be calm and keep your answers short. Things will work out!!

Tonite we're going out to celebrate with Hubby's family!

Nanda,R+E & Tekol, I thought about you right after my interview!! Hope your interviews went just as well!
