Hi everyone!

Congrats to all of you who got EADs and interview letters!!! I'm glad everything is moving forward.

I still didn't receive my interview letter and I have a question, I applied for a new social security card with my married name after receiving my first card in my maiden name in April and it never came. I went back to the social security office yesterday and the guy said that it has been sent long time ago... Makes me feel worried...

Could my interview letter have been lost too?? Is there a way of calling? I never had to call USCIS so far so I don't know what to do... all the VJ members that have similar timelines as mine got their interview letter already...

Thanks guys!

Aloe: just to let you know that I keep my fingers crossed for you!!! Good luck!!! (F)

Kiwi - I don't know for sure, but the way I read that interview letter, it meant that you need some official ID to get in - your NZ DL or passport should be fine. I think it is impossible in some states to get state ID or DL's without having a green card.

For my part, I am using my newly minted Social Security card to good use - I am going to be a contestant on Who Wants to be a Millionaire this month! I go in 2 weeks for the show taping. Wish me luck!

Thanks! so i will use my nz DL or passport if the state ID doesn't arrive in time. The last thing i want is to be turned away at the interview :star:

Wow! that is soo cool that you will be on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire!! Let us know how it all goes and when it will air?

Hi Kiwiana,

didn't you get just a piece of paper as your temp DL? I did get that and it is accepted everywhere. It just doesn't have a picture. But I guess your passport should work, too. They just want to make sure you are the right person. I don't think it has to be an American ID.

COOL, Rexalite. I would like to see that too. So let us know when to make popcorn and hang in front of the TV. :) So what will you do with you million dollars?

I am still waiting for a reply on my reschedule request. It's already been more than two weeks since our request....

Hey Alice!

Calling USCIS is actually not fun at all...I usually have a hard to time to figure out what number to choose from the menu. And they never accept my receipt number when I try to type it in. The best to do is to press 1 (for English) then 2 (case status) and then 3 (don't know receipt number). Then you can talk to a person. If you type in your receipt number and it works then you get an automatic voice reading your status as you can read it online. So that's what I would do. But I am not really sure if they can help you. Did you check other from your field office? Did they already get their interviews? That person on the phone might just tell you a timeline. But hey, it is worth a try. Good luck! :)

If you believed your application takes too long and you are worry about it, you can give a try calling NCSC @ 1-800-375-5283 and follow the voice prompt.

You must ready:

1.Your Application number if any assigned to you.

2.When and where you send it.

3.Petitioner & Beneficiary's name

4.What type of Application ( eg. AOS for K3, AOS for K1 )

5.Have paper and ballpen ready as you called them

Hoping this will help you.

I called USCIS again today as I have still heard nothing and I was pleasantly suprised to get a lovely man on the other end of the phone who did everythign he could to help me out. He asked me a lot more questions than all the others did and then put in a service request and said that if I had heard nothing within 45 days that I could call back however, he also said that because 90 days was approaching in 12 days that I could call back then and a different type of service request would be put in for me.

A lot of people here are telling me that I am nowhere near my 90 days because I received an RFE however he said that wasn't the case so I am a little confused but am just happy that SOMETHING was done.
