I got an e-mail from USCIS today that my case has been transferred. Yay for me. I think.

Congrats!!! I guess you are one of the lucky ones without an interview!

Hi all!, wow so many inerviews coming soon, its gonna get very tense, but hopefully you all will be all right.

My hubby is still waiting for interview, or GC or RFE who knows!

In the mean time, what do you always bring with you in case you are stopped by police or ice?. How you show proof you are legally here if your I-94 has expired?.

Hi Cuchita,

I would just show my american DL oder State ID. I am not sure if the EAD card works....is it considered as an ID? I would include a copy of your NOA for the GC to the passport, so the police can see that the process is running.

Still NOTHING for me. Counting down the days until Wednesday next week when hopefully they will put in a service request but I highly doubt it. I don't care if I don't get my interview letter for 3 years I just NEED to be able to work.

Oh BTW what am I supposed to use as proof of being here legally considering they won't give me anything.

Your passport & I-94 shows your entered the country legally. If you are like my case and your visa & I-94 expired, once I received my I-797 (Notice of Action) I just made a copy and had it in my wallet just in case.

Good luck Aloe!

Kiwi - I don't know for sure, but the way I read that interview letter, it meant that you need some official ID to get in - your NZ DL or passport should be fine. I think it is impossible in some states to get state ID or DL's without having a green card.

For my part, I am using my newly minted Social Security card to good use - I am going to be a contestant on Who Wants to be a Millionaire this month! I go in 2 weeks for the show taping. Wish me luck!
