Hi, just wanted to congratulate all!

My hubby just called. He made it through in Atlanta, but not without a lot of hasseling. They pulled him out and made him wait in the little office for more than 2 hours.

but at least he made it!

Cartman, we went to West New York, those fireworks are just unbelievable, but I got there a little late (drove and never been there before so GPS still got me lost ) anyways here's a pic of the view.

So a couple hours after my husband posted questions on the EAD....we received a notice saying that the card production was ordered 7-7-09. Woke him up just a little bit ago and told him to go find a job

Now we are just waiting on AOS.

Hey everyone, hope all had a great weekend and celebrated well.

Just to let people know, we received my AP in the mail yesterday, 2 pieces of paper with my photo on it?? Wierd i thought that they only sent 2? Anyway, we have it so thats a relief. Nothing on the EAD as yet tho, our last touch was 6/22/09 and we havent heard anything since, I am gettin kinda anxious now, I havent works for 3 months now and i have worked everyday since i was 17, so to wait this long to get back out there is very frustrating. Things are getting very tight here also with only one income, is there anything anyone reccomends doing??

Also is it normal to receive the AP before the EAD, i read that alot of people got the together, im getting a little worried that there was something wrong with the forms maybe? Ahhhhh i just want to be able to work and earn a living, any ideas/comments?

You shouldnt worry about getting the AP's before the Ead. That's the way it worked out for me, the EAD came about 1 week after the AP at the most, so yours should be on its way soon. Just hold on, you are nearly there!

Yader&Sarah - So pleased that you managed to be reunited once again after a trip outside of the USA. At least you can rest easier now being together again

A quick question please.......I have received my appointment for interview and it says to bring the form for the Dr's report. I didnt get one done because I was filing from K1 visa and in the instructions it said I didnt need one if the medical was less than 1 year old. Do you think I should get one done for us anyway? Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks

Teekol: I am sorry to hear that, maybe they lost your medical, like what happened to Terry and Seb. Try calling them to find out!, or is there a way you can contact the doctor who did your report? or the consulate?.

Now I am worried about my husband's cause the doc never gave him a copy of the paperwork it was in the sealed envelope he surrendered at the airport. They only thing he has is a copy of the vaccines.

Thanks Cuchita, I dont know whether getting a copy of the report will do any good. Like everyone, my original report was in the sealed envelope that they kept at POE, I only have the vaccine sheets, but that was supposed to be all we needed being K1. I think calling them (if I can get through) may be the best first step, thanks

I have called the USCIS hotline and they told me to call back when the 75 days had passed and they would put a service request in then or something like that. Then he said I might get it in two weeks but that is when the the 75 days would have passed. Right now I still have no touches and calling them didn't help at all. To me this is one of the most useless and inefficient places I have ever had to deal with.

I can't believe how difficult it is to deal with them. All they ever say is "call back in x amount of days's.

They really need a more easier way to get information about what's going on with your case.

Anyone else having trouble getting a DL?? On the Arkansas DMV website it says you need photo ID from the Dept of Homeland Security, so I thought I was golden with my EAD but the guy at the wicket told me that I needed a green card. Anyone have any luck talking their way into a DL? My Canadian DL is about to expire - I need ideas on how to appeal this!

My I-485 hasn't been touch after the biometrics...should i worry about it at all? I heard that most of people get a LUD on I-485 after their biometric.

Here in N.Y. I was told all I would need would be an EAD to get a DL. Of course I still don't have one because I don't have my EAD yet. I haven't been able to drive for 6 months because my Australian one expired and of course haven't been able to work since November, I feel like a 6 year old having to rely on everyone else for things that I should be able to afford and do myself!

Did you try talking to a more senior member there? sometimes the people at the counter have NO idea of what they are talking about. Also I know a lot of people have had some luck by trying a few different DMV's apparently one place will not issue you a DL whilst the place 10 minutes down the road will. Try looking up the state laws on getting a DL too.
