Most people send AOS package out WITHOUT the medical form complete....Reason is #1 all K1 and K3 applicants were already examined medically overseas including for TB via chest x-ray and #2 you're final AOS interview won't be for at least 3 months after you send out the AOS package...Oh, and #3 there is a strong possibility your case gets transfered to California and if that happens you won't even have an interview.

Just letting you know that you can send AOS package without the medical form (I did not send medical form and I haven't gotten an RFE and my EAD card was approved and ordered yesterday and travel document (AP) arrived yesterday). We ended up doing the medical after AOS package was sent and spent over $350 for her HPV shots and about $170 for the Civil Surgeon and maybe $40 for the MMR / TB / Tetnus shots (all 3). It is a huge rip off and I bet they don't even ask for the medical form at my interview. I am a mid-March filer and there are plenty of people that were tranfered to California therefore they will not even have an interview. It's looking like I will be having an interview, I won't be getting RFE (very rare to RFE for not providing medical form....not a lot of people submit this with AOS package), and when I have the 10 minute interview I bet you that they don't ask for the medical form but hopefully they do because we paid over $500 for all the shots!

You can send AOS package out now and good luck!

I know Levnd, I am nervous to submit, too. Everytime I had to send something for the visa or went to the interview it was the same. I am always nervous that I forgot something important and will be rejected....

But let's adopt the American positive thinking...."everything will just be perfect". :)

Hello everyone!

Welcome SwanTiger!

Nanda, the real wait begins! :star:

B&J: I live in San Diego, CA. I looked into going to community college, its cheap but I have to pay non-resident fees for the first year which puts the price of 1 unit from 20$ to 220$!!! Crazy! For now I try to entertain myself at home!! Thanks for your support though! and I am an expert in cleaning the house too now!! ;)

Why are you not considered as a resident? Didn't you get your drivers license yet? I just did that right after we got married, then I could use my husbands bills as "proof of residency". Now I got the license and nobody asks for anything else anymore. That fee is rediciolous....

I know, I just went crazy yesterday and forced my husband to throw away some stuff

That's right -except the HTML code made it hard to read. The code is C 9, but put them in brackets.

Levnd - I'm not sure what state you are in, but I got my TB skin test at the Department of Health. It was a walk-in clinic, and free. I then just went to the civil surgeon 2 days later to have the results read, and then they completed my 693. You could be done in a couple days, and save you the $$ for the doctor's visit. One of the toughest adjustments to life in the US for me is getting used to paying to go to the doctor!

Does anyone know what the correct answer is on I864 to Part I regarding the category of the sponsor? My husband came here on a K1 so we are filling out I485, not I130. But none of the other categories are correct either. Please help and thanks in advance!

As far as i am aware, on part one of 1-864,(if you are not the joint sponsor) you would check (A) I am the petioner. I filed or am filing for the immigration of my relative.

Is this the part that you are referring to?

Yes, that's it. What confuses me is that in the instructions, it says to check that box if you have filed or are filing I-130. I'm not. I'm filing I485 because my husband is adjusting status from a K1, not a K3.

The instructions are confusing at the best of times! And the more i read over the instructions the more confused i get. I looked over the example forms on vj to find out how to fill our forms out. I don't know what we would have done if we hadn't had found vj!
