Hi everyone, i received my NOA on May 15th but I still havent received an appointment for my biometrics, I read people saying you can walk in to your appointment ahead of the date, my question is - would it do any good turning up or is it only once you have an appointment that you can go early for it? I really need my EAD asap! Also, will the biometric appointment be at the office where my local infopass is?

Thank you!

Some places will allow you to come in early-but you have to have your appointment notice with you. I don't know this for sure, but I wouldn't think they would be in the same place. The place we had our biometrics-it was the only thing they did there. Our interview was elsewhere.

I think it is hard to give a general timeframe, especially for the AOS. As the AOS is processed by your local office till it is forwarded to CSC it can be different from State to State. Check the Timelines here in VJ for the AOS and select your special local office to see how long it took other people.

And the EAD timeframe doesn't seem to have any organized timeframe...some people get approved really quick others take a long time. I don't know what that is all about? Does it depend on how fast the local office sends the biometric data? But shouldn't that be in the system automatically? I don't know...still waiting for news on my EAD...

I am really happy for everyone that has received their EAD's you must be so happy but in the same sentence it is so frustrating for me to see people who applied a week or two AFTER me getting their EAD's and mine has not been touched since June 2nd the day after my biometrics appointment. Things are getting REALLY tight here my FIL can no longer work my MIL took a voluntary cut back to three days so that her sister would not lose her job altogether (they work for the same place) and my husband is SUPPOSED to be receiving twice the amount of money he is but his sister who held the position my husband has now keeps coming back to the job saying it is her job and she needs half the check. I REALLY need to get my EAD to start working even if I can only bring in $100 a week it would make things so much easier but nothing has happened for me. I come on here and see that people who filed after me have received it and I want to cry as happy as I am for everyone else I don't understand why nothing is happening for me. I know I received RFE's but they have noted that they received them on June 2nd so my case should have resumed processing right? and if it has it would have only been paused for 5 days at the MOST *sigh* It's starting to get so tight that we have started discussing sending me home so I can get a job. I would only have to pay $200 to change my ticket date as I was due to go home in february and my ticket is be valid until November '09.

11/18/08 - Arrived in U.S. on B2 visa

02/05/09 - Extended return plane ticket to stay for an extra 3 months

04/23/09 - Decided we didn't want to be apart even though we extended the stay and got married!

04/30/09 - Sent I-130/I-485/I-765 from B2 (no I-693 as it is not yet complete.)

05/03/09 - Received email form USPS stating that package had arrived safely and was signed for!

05/11/09 - Received NOA1's for I-130/I-485/I-765

05/16/09 - Received Biometrics Appointment

05/30/09 - Received a CRAZY amount of RFE's that were dated 05/21/09

06/01/09 - Biometrics Appointment Scheduled. In and out in 10 minutes!! Sent off RFE information (Should arrive in MO on Wed.)

06/03/09 - USCIS received RFE response

I am leaving tomorrow for holiday in Palm Beach for a week, so I am going to try and not check the USCIS site for touches for 7 days. It's my own little challenge to myself. I want to check and see if my pot isn't boiling because I am watching it! I wonder if I can go 7 days??

I'm really sorry some of you are having a tough time right now.

It sucks that some cases get processed faster then others. I guess it just depends on the local offices?

I'm actually expecting my AOS not to be approved for a long time because my local office is still processing stuff from last september.

To be honest I don't understand the whole time thing. I know your suppose to subtract it and get the approx month but there are so many people it seems that get their AOS ect.. approved dispite the fact that the office says they aren't processing that month.

I dunno maybe someone else understands it better then I do.

Sending you guys good vibes!!

Rexalite - enjoy your vacation!!!!

I was wondering the same thing. I DID notice that after my EAD was approved and card production ordered, that my AP touched. But I have no clue what that means.

Can anyone verify that CRIS emails you with an update when your AP is approved, just like they did with EAD?? or does it just show up with your EAD like I am kinda thinking??

Wow, Aloe, your situation sound pretty tough! I hope everything is turning out fine for you soon. Don't give up and keep waiting. I know how hard it is and I could just sit down and cry sometimes, too. It has almost been 4 weeks now since my biometrics and still nothing happens...and others get approved 2 days later. I am happy for those guys too and it gives me hope to see that USCIS is at least working.

But I really need the EAD asap too. My husbands salary is just enough to keep us eating and in the apartment....not really fun stuff....no vacation...nothing. As long as I don't have my EAD we don't even spend money on a second car, so I am just sitting at home the whole day...which can get really frustrating. I really want to work and can't wait for my EAD. Hey, and we will be paying taxes, too...so hurry up USCIS.

When I was at my Detroit local office for the biometrics, I honestly got the impression that they are totally not busy at all. So I think they just take their time for everything so their headquarter is not shutting them down. I am serious...that's how it seems to me. They were so happy when people were coming in they can talk to...

Hey rexalite, I wish you a nice vacation and try to forget all that for that one week at least.

Another update for us...I can't believe that everything has been happening so fast after the achingly slow pace of the K-1 visa process, we got our interview letter today!. I still can't believe the pace that things have been moving, it's WONDERFUL...but like I said, SUCH a change, lol.

So our interview is on July 29th...can't wait to be done with USCIS for 2 years after that!

Good luck to everyone waiting on those EAD's, hang in there!!!

Congrats that's fantastic news!!!!! Keep us updated on how it goes & Good Luck!!!!!
