Thanks for the answer Kiwiana. :)

Alice_and_brandon: I try to do some sports, get the house organized with all my stuff, try to make some friends and applying for jobs. I figured it might be a while till my first interview (so far this is true) so I just started looking for jobs and applying. If there is an offer and I don't have the EAD I'll worry about it then. :)

Oh and question! how did you guys package your stuff?

Right now, my stuff is seperated by form and all the stuff required per form in a folder. and then I used a big clip to keep them all together.

Then I put the cover letter on top and attached the two checks to that.

Is that good? Or should I put everything together in 1 folder(NO idea how that's all going to fit in 1 folder)

actually here I took a picture

Picture 1

Picture 2

I can't believe how thick it is!! Also I know you guys Love my paperclips :dancing:

I think this is ok. I still try to figure it out how to perfectly put all the stuff together. Maybe we should use a box and ship it with FedEx. :) It is crazy. But I will have one folder for the AOS and one for the EAD and then try to find an envelope for all that. It is better to keep it seperate as they will take to different ways. It is just good to send them in together to save the money for the EAD.

Hey Levnd -

I'm putting my package together too, and what I am planning is to just go with the large paperclips for each packet, with the little paperclips seperating out the constiuent elements of each packet. No folders. I havne't done it yet, so I'm not sure if it will be any less unwieldy than yours is. It's just a lot of stuff to get in one envelope.

Alice - I am kept pretty busy with our baby - he's one year old, and keeps me hopping. With my spare time, I have been concentrating on trying to make friends and get myself established here (I'm in Arkansas). To meet people I am doing exercise classes and a moms group. In the next little bit, we are going to start trying for #2, so I'm not sure that I'm going to look for work right away.

I just got my photos done for my package, and they are slightly larger than 2x2". I asked the guy about them, and he said that USCIS would cut them down to size with their die, and it was imposssible to get passport film in the 2x2 size, that everybody's was larger than 2"x2". Well I dont know if it's the immigration process or what, but I have a hard time believing that USCIS would not expect us to have our own custom dies manufactured so that we can submit photos properly.

Anyone have any insight on this??

Hi rexalite,

I don't think it is a big deal with the pictures as long as your face has the proper size on the pictures and is not taken too close.

levnd: I think your stuff looks perfect, I did the same excat thing, different folders and paperclips to separate everything! Nice paperclips! ;)

WeAreTogetherNow: It's awesome that you find German people around, even nicer that they offered you a job! I'm going to start looking for French people to hang out and just for the pleasure of speaking French more often!!

B&J and rexalite: Thanks for your answers. Brandon and I are living with his mom right now but we're looking into buying a place. :) So I spent a lot of time on the Internet looking for places! I guess I should start looking for a job too. Rexalite, I'm sure you're busy with your babyboy!!! :)

Hi there!

I got two question, which might be stupid, but I am totally overwhelmed by all the stuff right now.

1. On form I-485, Page 3, Question 12: I had a J-1 Visa 3 years ago. I had the 2 year foreign residence, but I obtained some waiver visa when I went to see my husband. So I have to check yes. Is that correct? It is so confusing, because I think the 2 year foreign residence is way more important than obtaining a waiver...

2. On form G-325A, First line: What is the File Number? There is an A already printed. Do I have to put my Alien registration number in there?

Thank you so much for helping me out. :)

Hi there!!! is there any chance you got the answer for Question number 1? i have the same problem also hahahaa lol i don't know what to answer if its yes/no... i had my 2 year residency rule but got a waiver for that already.

follow up Question..is the Alien number the A# written on my k1 visa and on my I-94 ?

Hi kaye,

yes, your Alien registration number is the A# that appears on your Visa.

I don't know about that question 1. I will send it the next days and will leave it as "yes". They can see from all my documentation that I had the foreign residency.

Alice: Where are you living in the States? I spend a lot of time on the internet, too, because we want to move latest end of this year. Our apartment is too small for us, especially as we plan having kids. :) And I have found some classes they offer in community schools for the summer term for people in the community. It is pretty cheap and they got sports, languages, etc. I guess I will do that, too, and maybe I can make some American friends, too. Maybe you got something like that?

For me it is the hardest part, just being at home and the only responsibility you have is keeping the house clean and look for a job and house. As long as you don't have kids it is pretty boring at home... I am used going to work and I like it, can't wait to do that again, till my first baby is coming. :D

So I went to the civil surgeon's office today to have my TB skin test read and pick up my I-693 form so I could send my package off today, only to be told that the nurse who performed my initial exam was on holiday and wouldn't be back til next week, so they couldn't review my file. I was so upset I started to cry - over a stupid few days delay in a process that I've been slogging through for two years now! The receptionist felt so badly that she arranged for another nurse who was on clinic in a different location that day to come by on her lunch hour and review my file so I could pick up my form this afternoon. I was so embarrassed I didn't have the heart to tell her that it was juts the difference of a few days! i brought them some cupcakes for going out of their way for me, and got my package sent in priority overnight to be delivered in Chicago tomorrow AM!

I'm an official May filer! Woohoo!

Woohoo!

Congrats!

Welcome SwanTiger!
