You are right Cuchita, it is pretty hard right now and the only thing we can do is just keep trying. That's how I keep myself busy during the day check companies over and over again and just submit resumes even though there are no openings..

But as I know it is the same situation in Germany right now it is not that bad I might sit there too looking for jobs and not finding anything. At least I am with my loved one. :) And he takes good care of me...it is just the challenge that I am missing right now...but it will come, just got to give it some time

Hmm the situation is really bad these days, I am so sorry many of our new immigrants who want to make a living find it so hard, especially when you come to this country with many dreams and leave your family. But don't despair better times will come! just hang in there!.

XOXO,

Cuchita

Hey for those who have done biometrics, have you seen any change in your case status online or gotten an email or anything to acknowledge that you've done biometrics? My case status still just says "application received."

How did everyone spend their Memorial Day weekends? I went to a wedding, and a wedding shower, and had some friends over for game night. It was a pretty soggy weekend, so I was glad not to be camping!

We helped our friend paint their new apartment and had a little grill out! Pretty relaxing!! Were so broke from submitting!

Oh and we had a phone meeting with our DJ for our big wedding next summer! She was fantastic :D

I've been going stir-crazy lately. Nothing to do at home! I keep seeing "now hiring" signs and I keep wanting to run in and apply!

Hi Levnd,

same with me. I keep looking for jobs and all I see is "sorry we do not have any job openings". Thanks!! What about for those who really want to work? :(

I have been hearing some encouraging stats lately - I think there were ten states last month with net job increases. I think things are turning around in time for us to get our EADs!

I sure hope everything is getting better because I don't want to do all this waiting for my EAD and then have to wait even longer to be able to FIND a job! I am not GOING crazy over not being able to work anymore I AM crazy!! I haven't worked for 7 months now and I still have a while to wait until I can. Although, we just got a kitten two days ago (she's 8 months from the pound) and on Tuesday we are picking up our lab puppy who will be 7 weeks old then. So I should be quite busy!

I have decided I won't be doing the whole walk-in process. I feel like it is jumping the line as we are given appointments for a reason. I know people who have been waiting probably don't enjoy seeing others just butt in so I decided I would not do that and would wait for my turn. That's just me though.

Mine hadnt changed either so I just got my NOAs and added each receipt number to my case file. Strangely when I did this it put the date in as the date that they would have been mailed rather than the date I entered them. Hopefully now I will be able to watch each of them progress or even if its just to see that someone has looked at them will be great :D

When i tried to add the receipt numbers to my portfolio(case file) it comes up with something like: case numbers do not exist. So i can't add even add them to my online case file.

I got back from my biometrics appointment about 45 minutes ago. It was crowded in there. There was a sign up on the wall that said that you could only be seen if you had an appointment letter, BUT others here on vj have gone earlier than the specified date and were ok and they were allowed to do it, so it probably depends on which office you go to and their policies for that particular office.

GhanaMade88: Congrats on receiving your NOA for I-131

Well thats a mystery. Why can one person add them and not another?.......strange.

I had to reschedule my biometrics appointment as my son graduates 5th Grade on the day we had been given and I dont want him to miss that. We did toy with the idea of just going the day before but as the office is about 2 hours away, we didnt want to risk being turned away and having to go through all of that again the following day. We called USCIS to see if we could just 'drop in' and they said that they dont allow 'drop-ins' anymore. When she said this I knew she was wrong because as you said, others here have gone earlier. Oh well, we will just wait for another appointment.

Hey goog news WeAreTogetherNow! But I still wonder how this can happen. For the money we pay them something like that shouldn't happen...so I hope your EAD will show up the next days. And I hope that for all the other ones still missing their cases online, of course too.

Hi all - still getting the paperwork together, have a question for you all. When my husband (then-fiance) got his medical exam in Guatemala before he came, he got the Hep B, Polio, and MMR vaccines and the doctor gave him a DS-3025. I thought that would suffice, but I've seen where it is recommended to get it transfered by a civil surgeon to a I-693 (I think I have that # right, don't have my papers in front of me). I haven't called around in this area, I was just going to use Dr. Arnold so Josue wouldn't have to get another full exam. What all did you guys do????

Thanks!

We took our DS-3025 to a civil surgeon and had him fill out the I-693. USCIS supposedly will only accept the I-693, although I've heard of people submitting the DS-2035 without a problem, but I didn't want to chance it. When you go to whatever civil surgeon you pick make sure you tell them that your husband DOES NOT need another full medical exam. They will try because they want the money, but in the instructions of the I-693 it says that if you came on a K-1 and are filing AOS within a year you don't need to get another full exam. They should just look over his DS-3025 and transcribe it to the I-693. The Dr. we went to decided that Tarun needed another MMR booster and another Tetnus...even though he had one in 2007!!! It ended up costing us $220 for the visit :(

There's a list on here of Civil Surgeons and you can search by your state. I'll see if I can find it for you and post the link just in case you want to check it out.

Here's the link for the Civil Surgeon locator:

I just took the chance and submited just the DS-3025. I gave it a try and if I get an RFE I still can call Dr. Arnold. But as it is already submitted, I'll get my EAD faster and maybe I can totally save the money for the transfer in the other form. They won't deny you just because of that. They will send you an RFE...

Thanks!

Thanks, we might take that chance too. Will they issue the EAD even if you get an RFE for the other?
