As well as the 'your e-mail has been deleted without being read' message, we also got this one... Talk about conflicting information!

"Your e-mail has reached the mailbox of the Consular Information Unit, US Embassy London.

The Embassy is closed until 8.00 a.m. on May 5, 2009 for May Bank Holiday. Your e-mail will be held in a queue and answered on our return. This office will resume normal working hours again from May 5, 2009.

For information on visa services at the Embassy please refer to our website - http://london.usembassy.gov

Consular Information Unit"

I guess they do read our e-mails!

Anyone else out there had this response before?

The Sam's.

Do you have an email for them? If so could you let me know via PM, as I am still waiting for my visa more than 2 weeks after being approved and am getting a little desperate as I can't find out why it's taking so long. The Premium rate visa phone number told me it was only for people coming for the interview and they had no clue on any cases post-interview...and the receptionist is just a miserable ###### who won't help me in the slightest. Thanks.

You must call the expensive line and ask them for email code. Put this code into subject line and you'll get an automated message saying that they'll respond to your email within 3-4 working days.

Previously, they responded to my emails within couple of days and on Monday they answered the same day.

Good luck.

Thanks, but I am pretty much stuck as I am staying with friends, they already let me call once yesterday but am reluctant to run their phone bill up. It seem others are waiting to, in the interview thread, so I'll stop moaning and just wait in line with the rest of them. I'll call that state number from skype myself later today though, just in case. But I'm not wasting any more cash on this process, it's already expensive enough!
