I doubt this has to do with ideology.

If you represent a commercial media outlet and something you say happens to offend people to the extent that it has negative blowback on your employer - you can't expect to be kept on the air.

Actually it doesn't. The show's owners can aren't bound to accept or endorse her views as theirs. Rather like what happened with Don Imus. No expecation of free speech when you work for a private company.

If he chooses to call Mexicans leeches and primitives standing on top of a bench in a public park, I'd say he should be allowed to. In fact, in the case of Mr. Severin.. I'd encourage it. I even have a park in mind, where his message would meet precisely the kind of reaction I'd like to see
