Hi all,

When filling out the I-130 form and all other associated forms, I put "N/A" in all spaces whre the answer is either none or deos not apply; however, I noticed on the sample forms on this site that they put "none" as the answer to those types of questions.

Does it make a difference if I answer N/A or none?

Thanks much

Steve

This is a piece of wisdom one of my fellow VJers has given me:

Don't put N/A unless it really is not applicable to you, because USCIS views EVERYTHING as applicable :)

For example, if the question is list your children and you don't have any, then you would put in NONE, you would not write NOT APPLICABLE ;)

If you answer a question, and answer is no, but under that answer there are more questions pertaining to the same matter (for example dates of birth of your children, and you already wrote NONE that you don't have any, than on the other questions about it you can write N/A because it makes sense.

I am using the children example off the top of my head because I don't remember what the I-130 form looks like anymore :)

I hope this makes sense to you, it did to me. I followed this little guide someone gave me :) and I didn't have any problems.

Best of luck to you!
