N-400, you can call the IRS and request for transcript it takes more than a week by mail but you can also request them to fax it to you. During my interview I brought with me front page of our bank statement, declaration page of insurancep, car insurance and even if she only looked at the transcripts, I made sure the docs I brought with me have both my name and husbands on it. Just do an infopass and personally submit it. Hopefully you can do that the soonest.

What is I-751. I didn't file this form. The officer didn't say whether the evidence needed to be recent or not. Evidence such as utility bills, credit card statement, bank, car insurance, purchase receipt, tax transcripts (even though he saw the tax return from a tax service), DL.... Have a month to submit these.
If the decision cannot yet be made , why did he have me sign on the passport-style pictures? Anybody knows?

I had the same experience as you. The signing of the pictures is to make sure the process goes first once they receive the docs they need and just send you a oath notice once all is reviewed and approved.

After consulting with My Lawyer, this is what he said about the waiting for a decision and request for more info.

" The first thing you need to do is supply the documents she is requesting and whatever other documents you have showing that you did live together prior to your move."

I know how it feels to be in such a position. It will all be okay. Just supply the docs and wait for the decision.

Sure you'll hear something soon... (F) I just wanted to ask in your lawyer's statement "The first thing you need to do is supply the documents she is requesting and whatever other documents you have showing that you did live together prior to your move." does 'move' mean prior to AOS or just that you moved houses or something like that recently...

Hello, thanks for asking. This is the situation: passed civic questions; a decison cannot yet be made; got form N-14 to submit more evidence (more marriage proof); sign on the pics. What you guys think of this? good or bad?

We overheard a lawyer talking with this guy who interviewed before my husband. He passed his test and all, but he needed to submit proof he was paying child support, he must of submitted later because when my husband took the oath later the guy was taking the oath at the same time. Just submit your proof.

Her driver's license should show her current address. She should arrange to get the license changed.

Sorry if I confused you N-400 - the I-751 is for people who had conditional greencard based on 2 years or less of marriage, to petition to have a 10 year card. We just got ours last year and I sent a big packet of papers for that.

So did you only show the officer tax returns? I guess he just needs to see more, and then he will approve your case (that's why he had you sign the pictures). It should be quite fast to get the transcripts (I think ours took about 10 days - free from the IRS) and you can put in the other stuff and send to him, and then I think you'll be approved quickly

Finally I have some good news. Today I was told by Second Level IO that Yesterday they printed by interview letter for October 13 at arround 10:15am at Atlanta. Unfortunately I didn't receive any email or status update that made me little

paranoid because the receipt nos before and after me seemed to get their interviews scheduled as their status changed online today. Probably I am the last of all may filers. Good luck for June guys

Sure the second level IO is correct in his info, and your IL is on its way... if they mail it today, you should have it by the end of next week... hang in there! Don't worry about the case status, mine never changes even though numbers around me seem to...

Updating my status: Short wait (~20-30 mins), interview was a breeze, took the oath the same day in the early afternoon. Portland, OR office is not loaded at all, they had only 15 people taking the oath yesterday... Best of luck to everyone still waiting.

svrao - don't worry about the update not happening - my online status still reads that they have received my application and I will be contacted later, whatever the wording is. I became a US citizen August 26th - and they still haven't updated my case file on line.

Updating my status. My N-400 application was based on the 5-year rule. I've been an LPR for 20 years. Interviewed on the 26 Aug at the Los Angeles DO. Lined up 30 mins early but still didn't reach the waiting room until 10 mins after the appointment time on the letter, so I'd give it 40 minutes to get through security. I handed in my letter and was called within 15 minutes. Others in the waiting room seemed to be there for a variety of reasons, AOS etc, and not just the naturalization interview.

The IO, who was courteous and professional though out, asked for my ID and green card, put me under oath, and immediately launched into the civics questions. He didn't stop at six correct but asked all ten and carefully wrote down each of my answers. He asked about employment, trips outside the country, associations, taxes, criminal record, defending the US, etc. He then had me sign the N400, handed me the completed N-652 indicating my application had been recommended for approval, and a passport form to complete and bring to the oath ceremony.

I received the oath letter Sept 5 for presentation at the Los Angeles Sports Arena on 25 Sept 2009 for the actual ceremony. I'm nearly done.
