You know, I swore I wasn't going to get obsessive and do this this time around, but yet, here I am ready to file and I'd like your feedback on my evidence list. We are also going to hand in a copy of my GC as well as the cover letter, completed form, supplemental address list (since we moved), copy of my change of address confirmation and of course the cheque for the filing fee. I already have labels printed off so that my name and A number will be at the top of every page submitted

Here’s the list ….

Photo of David and I taken at a wedding last year with caption (for the warm and fuzzy types)

2007 tax transcripts showing joint filing

2008 EZ file copy showing joint filing

Copy of our health plan cards from 2007/2008 when we were covered under my benefit plan

Copy of our health plan cards from 2008-2009 showing coverage under David’s health plan

Copy of house deed (in both our names)

Copy of mortgage statements (in both our names)

Copies of water utility bill in both our names (will choose five bills that fall in between the bank statement dates)

Copies of joint bank account statements from May 07, Nov 07, May 08, Nov 08 and Apr 09 (do I need to submit all pages or will just the first page do?)

Copies of actual credit cards showing joint accounts (we have two of these)

We have the option of including the following, but I’m not sure if it’s overkill:

Copy of my retirement package registration form showing David as the beneficiary

Copy of investments showing each other as beneficiaries

Copy of David’s life insurance showing me as beneficiary (harder to locate for some reason).

Anyway … feedback would be greatly appreciated as I really should have filed this already!

also - make sure you bring the w-2's along with that 2008 tax filing (not really needed, but just to be sure...)

Looks great! I included a copy of retirement account and a proof that my husband is a beneficiery. I think that can only help your case, even though it looks to me that you have more than sufficient evidence. Good luck!

You have a great list of evidence! I don't think it's overkill to submit a copy of your retirement registration form. Same goes for your investments and your husband's life insurance. Good luck!

I believe they can always take out what they don't need.

make sure to send in a copy of the front and back of the GC..

also include any accounts etc that just have your name on it and accounts etc that have your SO's name on it.. would prove that you live at the same address

looks good - I would send everything as well. For the bank statements, I send one complete statement of all pages for each year, plus 3 partial statements just showing the front page with the identification stuff from each year as well. I made sure that the complete statement also showed the mortgage payment coming out of the joint account (I highlighted the figure, in fact) as added evidence.

Looks good Mozzie! I would include whatever I have personally.. I sent all the beneficiary stuff in from hubby's policies.. I would have sent our will in too had I got my act together and had it notarized

I submitted all the pages of our bank account statements.. but i was going for overkill

Thanks for the responses and help all! Much appreciated! I found a few more things I'd missed am struggling with the investment stuff but oh well, I really do think enough is enough at this point! I'll post again when it's all said and done. Heck, just rereading this, I realize I forgot the GC in my photocopying frenzy today (gotta love a generous workplace for that!)

Okay folks, I took the advice offered here and on a few other threads and this is the final list (copied from the cover letter). It totaled up to a lot more pages than I thought it would and in fact, we took out a few things to get in under 80 pages (a self-imposed limit).

Anybody care to take a last look before I mail everything off tomorrow? Pretty please?

• The completed I-751, signed by both Monique and myself (2 pages);

• Supplemental Information sheet listing all the places Monique has lived since entering the U.S , signed by both Monique and myself (1 page);

• A copy of the AR-11 Change of Address confirmation dated 08-09-2007 (1 page);

• I-865, Sponsor’s Notice of Change of Address for me (2 pages);

• A copy of the front and back of Monique’s Permanent Resident Card (1 page);

• A copy of a XXX magazine (Summer 2008 issue) article where Monique, my father and I were photographed at my graduation ceremony (1 page);

• A copy of our house deed (2 pages);

• Copies of our Insurance – Homeowners Declarations from the periods 08-07-2007 to 08-07-2008 and 08-07-2008 to 08-07-2009 (4 pages);

• Copies of 4 joint mortgage statements dated over a 1.5 year span (4 pages);

• Copies of 4 of our joint Baltimore Metered Water Bills dated over a 1.5 year span (4 pages);

• A copy of our 2007 joint U.S. IRS tax transcript (3 pages);

• A copy of our 2008 joint federal and Maryland state e-file tax forms (15 pages);

• Copies of 4 monthly bank statements from our joint checking account from November 2007 to April 2009 (26 pages);

• Copies of two (2) joint credit cards (2 pages);

• A copy of our current auto insurance policy (1 page);

• Copies of our former health insurance cards and a copy of the verification of coverage from CareFirst—the insurance plan provided by Monique’s workplace (XXX)—from 2007 showing me as a dependent on this plan (2 pages);

• Copies of our current health insurance cards under the insurance plan provided by my workplace—XXX (1 page);

• A copy of Monique’s Mutual of SEP plan registration form showing me as the beneficiary dated March 27, 2008 (2 pages);

• A copy of my life insurance registration form, provided by my employer XXX showing Monique as the beneficiary dated August 12, 2008 (1 page).
