Plain and simple. There is no way to prove your case is in a particular package sent to any embassy. When you trace a package using this method does the information you receive say that your case is in the package you are tracing? - NO. Most likely it is but it could be other cases or anything the NCV sends to an embassy. I did traces when I knew our package was sent, but the tracking information did not include case numbers - thus just because a package was sent (even on the same day NVC says they sent your case) it does not mean your case was in a package you see on the DHL website. DHL does not keep track of NVC case numbers they just deliver packages. If you want to trace packages and assume your case was in the package you find on DHL's website and it makes you happy - great.

Umm, sure there is! You call NVC.

Applicant: I'm calling to find out the latest update on our case.

Operator: Your case was completed and was sent to the Embassy.

Applicant: Can you please tell me what date it was sent?

Operator: Your case was sent on Wednesday, March 16th.

Applicant: Okay, thank you very much!

There is no assumption about it. Applicants can request the latest information from an NVC operator, which includes the date their case was sent to the Embassy. No, you don't have an actual tracking number. But you don't need one. You use the art of communication and the gift of common sense.

Just because you were unsuccessful with it doesn't mean others will be. Maybe you didn't do it correctly. Many others have had success with it, including myself. And yes, it does make us happy! :D

The fact that others have written to try to use the day before or after, for example:

Try using a day before and a day after your case was sent out.

says to me that there is no way to be absolutely sure about which package your case is in.

Well, last post for me on this topic. To all those who use this tracking method (or don't use it), congratulations! you made it out of the NVC.

Best of luck to all.

This works so well!!!!! especially if you are assigned to a low traffic Consulate like me: Vancouver. I called this morning and they told me my package shipped yesterday. Checked the DHL website this afternoon and there it was: one lonely little 6 lb. package enroute to Vancouver! Of course, I can't be sure it is "my" package, but the coincidence is sufficient for me. I've been checking every day since NVC said they had my package and this was the only one to Vancouver in that timeframe.

Thanks to smart people of VJ for the tip!

PS. Seems DHL picks up around 1:00PM CST every day, so look around that time.

it appears that they process your case for shipping the day before but you cannot see the shipped package until it is picked up the day after.

if your case was sent on April 20, it was processed on April 19 therefore u should put april 19 in your reference search

but try both dates just in case because sometimes they can process things last minute and they will be processed and sent the same day

also packages are picked up anytime between 5 pm and 10 pm est. i find checking after 10pm allows u to see all packages sent out without encountering any problems with dhl website

Hi brothers and sisters we all have that curiosity to know when our cases arrived at the embassy ,so i tried to find out how and it took me a lil while from what i been reading in some topics here they told how but when i tried never worked blink.gif but when i just tried simple thing found it worked and got the track # and where is our files now just follow those simple steps and you will get to

1- when you know from AVR that your case was forward to embassy ( mm/dd/yyyy) lets take an example case forward to embassy March 20th 2009

2- go to DHL TRACK

3- then under track list click on track reference

4- put the reference in this shape EXP19MAR2009A and push track

now we seen its completed in 2oth but we searched in 19th yes because they schedule shipping day before so DHL know in advance when they will ship it so day before will be your exact day for NVC shipping your case to your embassy

i tried it this way and worked but i found 2 cases to cairo so which one is mine dosent matter as along as i can keep an eye on it for sure the month will be changing just the example above for explanation

Good luck all good.gifgood.gifgood.gif

This is a great post with excellent information, thanks so much for putting this on here!

Okay, I got it to work with the spaces: EXP 27 APR 2011A

When I make the two dates the same and click Track, it opens right into a Manila shipment. However, that shipment was apparently 19 lbs. I know what I shipped to USCIS was only 3 lbs. So if this is indeed my shipment, is it safe to assume that DHL bundled together a few petitions from USCIS and then shipped to Manila? Or is this probably not my case?

it probably includes your case - they dont have to send each petition separately so it is likely they bundled some together
