Leo&Farah, congrats on getting an interview date! I wish ours could be that soon!

Anyway, just got an e-mail from NVC. I sent them an e-mail about our status on September 17, and now they responded...a little late for that, as I already sent in my packet 3 to MTL consulate. Are they really that behind??

Good luck everyone with your journey!

Hey Guys... I hope everyone is doing alright with their respective stage....

for the ones waiting for NOA2s have you called to place a service request???

for the ones on AP... I hope it goes fast... really fast... to your respective embassies!!

for the ones who are waiting on the packages to arrive the embassy... use the DHL tool it works like a charm!!

for the ones in Packets 3, etc.. make sure you have the paperwork ready... and try to get as much as possible done before you get the request to send them...

On a personal note, I suggest to all of the people who are planning to work/study here in the US when you move... try to get all your school, work, etc paperwork taken care of... before moving here... because later is more work to do... and if you have to translate documents... you can negotiate with the translator of charging you a lower rate per sheet if you give them more stuff to work on...

@ 2BIG:

Man I am so glad to hear your case is moving along... hopefully in a couple of weeks you can have your woman in the US...

@ DND2009

Thanks for the confidence... my suggestion is use www.kayak.com you can find really good deals there.... also if you are under 26... use www.studentuniverse.com... the first website is a search engine for a bunch of websites...

@ Leo&Farah

I'm so happy you guys are set.... good luck with the rest to this journey... is almost over :)

HELLO EVERYONE! THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I POST HERE. MIKE AND I ARE MAY FILLERS AND WE ARE NOW EXPECTING OUR PACKAGE 4,THAT IS THE K VISA INTERVIEW PACKAGE, THE EMBASSY HERE SAYS IT MIGHT NEVER COME SO WE HAVE TO CHECK THE UPDATES ON THEIR WEBSITE TO SEE IF WE CAN FIND OUT ABOUT OUR INTERVIEW DATE.

ANYWAY... IS SOOOOOOOOO GOOD TO KNOW AS IN THE SONG FROM HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL "WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER"

AT THIS POINT IS VERY EXCITING TO SEE ALL THE PROGRESS THAT EVERYONE HAS MADE AND HOW LOVE HAS NO BOUNDARIES :luv: BUT ALSO VERY STRESSFUL THAT YOU SEE THAT TINY LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL BECOME BIGGER BUT NOT BIG ENOUGH TO LIGHT UP YOUR WHOLE SELF :(

BEST LUCK TO ALL OF YOU GUYS GOING THROUGH THE VISA PROCESS. AND JUST QUOTING 2BIG WE NEED TO PRAY

I´LL BE POSTING ON ANY PROGRESS THAT WE MAKE ;)

We were given: Two hands to hold. Two legs to walk. Two eyes to see. Two ears to listen. But why only one heart? Because the other was given to someone else. For us to find.

Welcome to our group... even though we have not posted too much lately.... I know I haven't.... if you have any questions... let us know... also good luck on the rest of your journey... I hope is a speedy one!!

@ 2Big.... Yes the embassy in CCS aparently is working pretty quick.... I still cannot believe it, but I am not going to complain about it ;)......

Update on my case: My fiancee got her medical done last Friday, and yesterday she got her envelope to take to the interview at Embassy.... so just a few things left to get done... getting the criminal background, which it should be this week as well... and then we are all set... I think  ....Also, I got my ticket to fly there for the interview... it was not cheap at all :crying: , but I think it does make a difference if you are there with your SO to show that is a really a bonafide relationship....anyway.... good luck everone....if you can...try to be on top of things for each part of the process you are in....

As for me...still haven't heard a word...no touches, nothing. 5 months will be on the 15th. Should I call again then?

Have you asked for a Service Request? keep in mind that the USCIS timeline says it takes less than 5 months... not 5 months... so ask to be escalated to an officer, of course being polite and nice gets you a long way..... so if I were you, I would call and say my case #, then if they tell you well is 5 months... then you say... well on the website it says... if they show the time in months.. it means they are taking less than that number (this is written on the website, you can check it out)... then ask nicely to be transfered to an officer.... explain your case and hopefully they can give you some answers...

I hope this helps...

Whoops - meant to ask you guys this but asked the whole VJ community!!!

Hey guys - I was on on the SS website today and saw this "Request a Social Security number card as part of your Department of State immigrant visa application." I was just curious if any of you did that? http://www.ssa.gov/ssnvisa/eae_info_sheet.html

And yes, I know there is another forum for SS questions but wanted to ask you guys first.

On October 6, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

I'm not an expert... but I dont think this pertains to our cases.... this is for when you do things for immigrant for family based such as wife, children, siblings, etc... as far as my understanding goes... K1 beneficiaries have to request in person their SS#... i think those are for special cases... when I immigrated to the US I had to apply in person anyway... so... I am not sure ....
