omg omg !! we just got an email tonite saying our case was aproved and notice was sent on the 9th!! we are still waiting for it to come in the mail though!

How did you get it expedited? Can anyone do that? Is there a fee?

No fee just need whatever proof they ask you for as your reason for expidite, we qualified to ask for one as per my SO's job. Theres info on uscis about expiditing ---> USCIS Expedite Criteria

All expedite requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and are granted at the discretion of the Director. The criteria are as follows:

•Severe financial loss to company or individual

•Extreme emergent situation

•Humanitarian situation

•Nonprofit status of requesting organization in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States

•Department of Defense of National Interest Situation (Note: Request must come from official United States Government entity and state that delay will be detrimental to our Government)

•USCIS error

•Compelling interest of USCIS

If your case is at a local office at the time you need to make your emergency request, please go to the local office in person to make your request. Please be sure to take all supporting documentation with you.

If your case is at one of our Service Centers or the National Benefits Center, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 to receive further instructions on where and how to send your request.

Taken from USCIS USCIS Criteria for excceleration

If anyone is military and has not tried this yet b/c they didnt know about it or what-have-you try calling them at the military hotline and requesting one tho you do have to be deploying or able to prove something to them for a good reason to expedite your case Military Q's link with hotline number etc

On another note we just got our NOA2 today in the mail :star: sadly it looks like the may CSC thread has all but completely died =(

We got expedited because my fiance is in the military and works in a very volatile unit, can be deployed anytime. No fees.

An update: we already received the NVC letter saying our case will be forwarded to the embassy in about a week. So happy!

Hey everyone!

Hope your day is going well...hope you have great weather. It's a rainy day here in Toronto and it looks like it will be like that at least until Saturday. And it's TGIF tomorrow! Are any of you looking forward to movies coming out? I personally would love to watch "The Proposal" starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds :)

Have a great rest of the week!

Hey toronto nonie,

It's sunny and it's Friday! Yeah, I'm actually looking forward to watching "The Proposal" with one of my colleagues.

Have fun with your SO. I haven't seen mine since mid-May also, but I'll see him next weekend. We're taking a 5-day trip to The Gorge in Oregon. He's a windsurfer, so I'm trying to get into that also. I'm a little nervous about crossing the border. I think if I have my return itinerary, letter from employer and a copy of the NOA1, it will suffice..*crossing fingers*.

Have a good weekend!

Hey everyone!

Word is out that a fellow May filer just got approved in 22 days and it wasn't an expedite! Perhaps cases aren't processed on first-come-first-served basis and gives us all a glimmer of hope for what could be.

So...hang in there. We'll make it!

Take care,

yeah the wait is tough. I've already been here done this being apart BS once so its really a pain this time around. Long story short ...we met...he moved here and we lived together for over 3 years...he had to go back for reasons beyond our control and now we've been apart since Oct 1. It sucks. Our lives are on hold but there's nothing one can do but wait.
