Good morning guys! I applied SSN last March 31, 2009 in SSA Office here in our place. It`s almost a month now and my SSN haven`t arrived yet. I called SSA office here last Monday and they said that my papers was still on process because they have to verify my status in Department of Homeland Security. My I-94 will be expire on May 6, and I was so worried now because when they are going to verify my status in DHS, if my visa was already expired? If my I-94 is already expired do they still consider my application which I applied a month ago?

My SSN is so important because I can`t get Learners permit to study driving here, SSA office here is delaying my SSN I don`t why they delayin` it. I submitted all the documents when I applied card in their office but still I can`t received any progress. They are so slow , my husband and I were so frustrated about this queries.

Thank you guys! Have a great day!

you'll be fine girl...dont worry. I think your AOS application and the NOAs you received are more important than your I-94 now. I experienced your case too and I went to SSA office to verify the delay...after that i got my card after 5days...not bad though...

Eternally destined,

That;s they way the process goes, and before u know it, her card arrives without expecting it. I do recommed to start looking into the AOS process, which is a bigger wait and much more frustrating but that's the main one to concentrate besides the Cititezship process.

Hey.. sorry to hear about the SSN delay.. but I am in the same boat... We were given different stories by SSA.. First time we applied, the lady said that we need the original certified Marriage Cert from the county and then my name is not in the system yet.. I should come back after 2 weeks.. so we waited for our marriage cert.. which took 1 month by the way.. so when we applied the 2nd time, with the complete docs in hand ie. marriage cert, valid I-94.. another lady said that she still couldnt find my name in the system.. I've been here for almost 2 months at the time of my 2nd application.. so the lady said, we still have time.. she just needs to get a verification from INS that my name is in the system or why my name isnt in the system.. so she told me "it usually takes 7 days" so after 7 days nothing happened and I decided to call them.. of course, they said its still pending.. so after 1 more week, my hubby and I decided to just go to SSA office and find out whats happening.. if we hadn't gone to the office they wouldnt really do anything, its just sitting on her desk... and said that the verification just came that same day.. i think it's full of BS there! anyway, so the conclusion is.. I still didnt get my SSN b/c i only have 1 week before my I-94 expires at that time.. and she said that it didnt matter even though we applied earlier.. the system wouldnt let her do it..

so here I am waiting for my EAD.. I've gotten my interview letter for the I-485 though.. but no EAD and SSN yet..
