Hey there,

I’m still waiting for my NOA2, which should arrive pretty soon. The problem is that my police record is expiring in a week (I did all my papers in advance). Shell I get another police record or this one would be fine for the interview? Did anybody experience this?

for consulate purposes the PC is valid for up to one year... I would check with Bucharest to be certain, but a simple e-mail may save you a hassle of getting one again for no reason

YMMV

On this issue, you CAN know. Regardless of the Consulate, they don't care about any "expiration date" on a police report. If its issue date is within the time-frame they accept, they'll accept it. All you need to do is confirm their requirement by email.

Generally however, it's wise to delay requesting the report until you're confident it won't age past six months. I usually advise three months where possible.

From the consulate website

email: VisasBucharest@state.gov In most cases, the message will be answered within 3 business days.

My wife needed a PC from Moldova and she received it in October... Her visa interview was in May... Kiev had no issues... It is important to get the exact answer from Bucharest.

I sent a message to the consulate yesterday asking about the PC and all I got back today was “message delayed”. However I’m still waiting for an answer from them. I will let you know whatever they suggest.

Thank you for the answers.

It seems to me that they don’t want to answer to my question. I never got back any answer from my consulate. I’ll just go ahead and get a new police certificate to make sure everything is correct and valid. It will take me another long wait in line, but that’s better than getting in troubles at the interview because of an expired PC.

:innocent:
