My case status online is:

Application Type: I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Current Status: Case received and pending.

Does it actually change to something else before approval? or go straight to approval from this screen?

There is also a 'last updated' column with a date, if this date changes then you received what VJers refer to as a 'touch'. It means that someone at USCIS accessed your file for whatever reason. If you filed your application following the instructions to a T, then you most likely won't get an RFE. Either way it can be addictive to check the site. Best wishes on a speedy process.

I-130 Approved : 2009-01-12

NVC Received : 2009-1-16

Officially in AVR : 2009-1-17 emailed scanned DS 3032

DS 3032 generated and accepted via email/ AOS I-864 generated : 2009-1-23

Received I-864 Bill : 2009-1-26

Pay I-864 Bill : 2009-1-26 status PAID 1-28

Pay IV Bill : 2009-1-26 status PAID 1-28

Send Completed I 864 and IV Package (overnight) : 2009-2-4 (had to wait for hubby's PC and original birth certificate to arrive)

Case Completed at NVC : 2009-2-11 !!!!

NVC Left : Received email March 3rd

Medical Completed : March 12, 2009

Interview Date : April 22, 2009. 8 am. VISA APPROVED!!!

Visa in Hand : April 27th, 2008!!! Arrival May 11th! POE JFK

Processing Estimates/Stats : Your I-130 was approved in 101 days from your NOA1 date. NVC completed in 26 days! Interview was 201 days from Noa 1.

Just don't expect to receive any email updates from USCIS when you sign up for them, I don't know one person that received email updates ;)

our status in USCIS website are still the same.... Feb 19, 2009... And our case is now complete at NVC.... Don't too much rely on the website coz its not updated.. Better call the USCIS or wait for them to send you the hardcopy of NOA2

mine was approved in march but still shows as pending hahhahah i was happy when i got the approval letter because i was checking the uscis website everyday OCD!! hahahha

Make sure u sign up with them so they email u when your case changes :) Its better then checking every day like i did lol, Once i was approved i got an email from them.

12/28/2007-- Married in mexico

02/2/2009- Sent out I-130

02/06/2009-Noa1

04/27/2009-Noa2 Approved :)

05/02/2009-noa2 Hardcopy in the mail :)

05/18/09- Nvc case number and Ds-3032 also paid Aos bill

06/16/2009- paid IV bill

07/20/2009- sent out Aos ( yea I paid everything now im sending it. I was out of town with my hubby for 2months Thank God they let us pay online now only if we could send everything else online lol )

07/30/2009- Sent out DS-230

08/12/2009- Case Complete with NVC

09/01/2009- Visa interview has been scheduled for 10/05/2009. Letter by email.

Jan. 2010 -- DL issued

May. 2011 --- graduated for my bachelor degree

Sept. 1, 2011 --- Driver License Renewed ( till 2017)

NO removal condition

Citizenship

Oct. 2011-------- Filed N400

Jan. 2012 ------ Biometrics and Interviewed at same time

Jan. 17 2012 ---- Sworn In
