Of course they read  I think it's a good thing for people like us who are being honest about our petition. For those who decided to lie, SHAME ON YOU and watch your backs

But that's just why what we say on here really couldn't have any bearing on our cases, even if we wanted it to (that is, assuming that USCIS employees read here). Anyone can lie here because we never sign any statement that what we post on VJ is the truth, so nothing posted here could be used for or against you. We do sign off on what we send to USCIS.

I don't think they read this forum because they're not interested.

It is their job to process the applications, check information, etc., I don't think they get personally involved with any of the applications they process.

Why would they care what is going on here at VJ?

I don't remember ever writing my last name, address, or SSN on anything related to this site. Even if someone from USCIS did take the time to read this site--they wouldn't be able to identify anyone by just a first name.

I never worried about it one way or the other. I have nothing to hide anyway. I really doubt that a US-CIS employee could positively deduce the identity of an applicant without a preponderance of information.

Sure...you can see a timeline, the office that is adjudicating the benefit, and the nationality of the foreign spouse or fiance(e) on some members posts, but it would take a heck of a lot of research to pin it to someone.

Some adjudicators may read this forum for entertainment, but it would be way too much work to track down an applicant from the posts.

For the most part...I think most adjudicators are typical government bureaucrats. I asked our AoS adjudicator at our AoS interview why my stepdaughter's AoS interview was not scheduled on the same day as my wife's. She didn't know why and told me that she she is assigned cases by her supervisor. I got the impression that she didn't get a lot of time to review our folder and was looking it over for the first time while interviewing us. So I think most have very little time to play detective with stuff they read on this forum.

In any event...I doubt that a vast majority of our posts on this forum would be of any interest to US-CIS unless blatant fraud is indicated. And I believe that anyone that would post such admissions would be really stupid to leave enough clues to identify themselves positively.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

I think they are only interested in the forms they have in front of them and nothing else......

Well if you are really paranoid maybe USCIS is pretending to be one of us...

I doubt that they read this forum cause they are too busy with 9-5 and then personal life.

They want to go home from their job, unlike us which this is our life.

Why wouldnt they read these types of boards, especially the likes of VJ? Many ways to connect ID's to petitions. There is one specific case I recall from the old site where a member directly had something asked of them relating to something that was said on this board.

Why would it be unethical?

I dunno, maybe because they should be working and not surfing the web :P

Yikes, that's kind of scary. I'm pretty sure they could easily identify. My first name always gives me away. Uh-oh, maybe I should change it :ph34r:
