chose CR1 what do i do with k3??

Hi everyone, i have pretty much decided to go with the CR1 route, so what do i do with the k3 application, they have just sent my husband a letter saying it has been forwarded to the consulate where we got married. we have a case number for k3 but still nothing for i-130 at NVC. On the NOA2 it had the date as april 16th.....its been a while im getting abit worried why they havent assigned a case number yet, i spoke to a person at NVC on tues who said still havent recieved.

So with the k3 do i just let it continue or do i need to contact some body. The interview for k3 would be different country than interview for i-130 as we married abroad. i am actually in the country we married right now but decided may be better just do CR1 as everyone seems to say so!

IV fee paid online - 10 June 09 (delay as was considering K3 at this point but the K3 interview was July 15th, so decided CR1 better and only 1 month longer!)

IV package sent - 17 June 09

CASE COMPLETE - 1 July 09

Interview date recieved via email - 9 July 09

Medical - 11 August 09

Interview 14 August 09

Just ignore everything related to the K-3. Make sure the petitioner follows all the steps related to the NVC correspondence. You are making the right choice.

If you have a lawyer, all the CR-1 paperwork will go there.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Yes, ignore anything you get regarding your K3 petition and ask your husband to diligently send everything that the NVC requests from him. This will make the CR1 visa process move faster so you can get an interview for it.
