Hi all,

I got a NOA1 from CSC on May 15th but there is no word on NOA2 and only one week left before the 5 month processing time deadline. A few questions for you all:

1 - Is there anyone else in a similar situation?

2- Can the NOA2 be delayed past the 5 month processing time?

3 - I see that some people have "touch" in their timelines, what does that mean?

many thanks in advance...

Hi,

I also received my NOA1 around may 15 or so. On the advice of some great people (Starlight95 mostly) I contacted my representative about a week ago. Today I got an email from the representative saying that I was approved for the NOA2. I'm sure that the congressional inquiry played a part in getting the approval. So,... my thoughts to you is to contact your Representative today.

05/15/09 - Sent in I-129F

05/19/09 - Received NOA1

10/08/09 - NOA2 Approved

You just need to follow up and get your rep involved. A touch is an update on your case. I am not sure if you signed up for case status on USCIS web page. But, if you register and get your log in information any time they make any updates to your case the date will change. This is what is referred to as a touch. Don't wait the 5 months and then get your rep involved. You need to take immediate action, because sometimes this is the only way to hear something. At the same time you will feel better that you are taking some kind of action. Best of luck keep us updated!

The funny thing is I thought I was not going to hear from CSC until much later in the process. I thought they would sure pass me by, and I had a letter prepared and mailed out as soon as I saw approvals. I just wanted my rep to contact them and found out the status. The letter arrived at my congresswoman's office and the same day I got an RFE :). It was a big coincidence. At that time I was so happy that I finally heard something, and then started preparing for my RFE and got my approval shortly after I submitted. Even though the short wait seemed like eternity..

How is everyone doing so far? As of last Thursday my petition was at NVC going through additional processing. I hope I am out by Monday. My fiance was able to download the documents for packet 3 from the embassy's website. Now we are waiting for our petition to get to the consulate so he can forward the packet 3 and get our interview date.

On my end my goal is to have all the documents ready for my fiance for his interview. I am going to give all these document to our family member who is going to India next week, and that will be delivered to my fiance as soon as possible. I have had bad luck with sending snail mail there. I don't want to take any chance.

Yeah, I forgot about that when I had written this post earlier that Monday was a holiday. Wednesday is not too far away I can handle that :).
