My fiancé received the NOA2 hard copy on August 28 and it has the date August 25 but until today, the NVC says that they still haven’t received our case. I wonder what went on when those who were approved after us and the ones who have the same approval date as ours, their cases are already in their respective embassies. I really would like to attend the wedding of my fiancés sister on October 24 but right now, I wonder if that’s still possible.

How difficult are they? What does the famous Packet 3 include? Did you get them in snail mail?

Well, one is a pain in the butt since it's electronic and has to be finished in one go, and you have to pay for it.

I dont know if your consulate is part of it, but only certain consulates have to have people fill out these forms.

2 of them are pretty painless, and the last one took about 1 minute.

I havn't gotten packet 3 yet. I've read they dont even send the forms anymore.

I found a scan of the list in the Canadian section for my consulate and just decided I better start filling them out.

I guess I should check out the consulate so I can let me my fiance know. Since, that part of the step I don't have much control over and he will be handlling it. Well, its a good start. Once I get my NOA2 I think will be clueless after that :).

Where are all the May 09 filers today?

Kha Han is planning on going to the Consulate in about an hour or two to drop of the packet 3 information. It took long enough to return it!

Why did it take that long to return? Was it due to the the wait for the police clearance?

Way to go Star!

Re: forms (DS 156, 156k and 157) in the consulate where I belong, you get to download it online and fill them up there once downloaded then print. No payment needed. You bring all those on the day of the interview. No need to send them all back to them. I suppose each consulate have specific nuances and requirements.

Life is beautiful!

That seems fairly easy. Thanks for the info! I hate the fact that I am not their with my fiance so I just want the other steps to be as easy as possible.

Yeah, we just wanted to wait long enough to make sure the interview doesn't happen before the police report is available. Our next concern we now have is that she needs to sell the rest of the land she bought (she is a realtor) and sales have completely stopped for the past month.

So, my fellow May 09 filers my RFE is sitting at the post office waiting for someone at CSC to pick it up and sign for it. Since, it was delivered on Saturday and a notice was left.

Thanks Bob for your response it helps to know that somebody will eventually go and pick it up.

I think that is a good idea that you waited for the police report, and hopefully she can sell the land asap so you guys can move on with the interview. Just a few more obstacles before you will be together forever. :). Hang in there.
