Wow...I just called NVC to get some type of update. The guy was really nice. He gave me my case # and informed me that they received 8/31/09 and sent to the consulate 9/2/09. So I guess we wait to hear from them or can we call and harass them to see where packet 3 is? :)

girl how do i know when they already sent it to the consulate here in the phils. im lost now and gah my fiance isnt home to help me make phone calls and take care of paperworks /sigh

I have yet to call NVC.

I was going to get my fiance to do that today, but then I found out that his days off switched to Thursdays.

Oh well, not like calling super early will accomplish much.

And should I keep calling NVC till I know when the packet left?

There isnt much info in the NVC section for K-1 applicants, so once we get our NVC #, do they update it in the automatic system so we dont have to keep going to a live person?

I probably wont get him to call till Monday now.

I got a touch again yesterday, assuming that's the day they put my package into the mail bin for delivery, so I'm going to guess it won't be there by tomorrow.

May as well give them some time

Here's hoping I'm not one of the "lucky random people" who get pulled for AP.

Bleh I'd hate to double post, but I was thinking about my K-1 Package.

I've seen so many people say "Include fiance letters of intent" blah blah.

I didn't include them and got approved... so I really do wonder if they actually need them.

I mean, I'll have them for the interview, so... yeah.

I mean, of course I intend to marry him! Why else would I be busting my butt waiting forever for this visa if I didnt want to marry him.

Well, I guess that touch I got was lucky - I JUST got the email saying we are approved! (funny considering it was just before 11pm there when I got the email).

Onto the next steps, and to think, I was just looking at all the paperwork I'll need for Packet 3 yesterday... I guess I'll get a head start on that :)

July 2007 - met Jesse at a beach party held by mutual friends in Long Island, NY

May 2008 - J-1 visa expired, had to move back to Australia

July 2008-September 2008 - lived with Jesse for three months in Staten Island, NY

March 2009 - Jesse comes to Australia for 3 weeks

April 2009 - Engaged!

05/20/09 - I-129F petition mailed in

05/22/09 - NOA1!

05/25/09 - touch

09/09/09 - NOA2!

10/01/09 - due to fiance's illness, we are abandoning pursuit of K-1 at this point. Packet 3 received from consulate but won't be returned.

Congrats to everyone!!! Those still waiting just hang in there. Well, the good news is I will be getting the document, but its going to cost me a big dent in my wallet. I have to make a quick trip to India, because they will not give it to me until I am there in person. Can you believe that? It's actually a long story, but I may be leaving next weekend and strictly just going to pick up that document and fllying back the next day. It sounds crazy, but apparently that is the only way.

I did include one, but its good to know its not necessary. I included that, plus an extra letter including how I met my fiance. I still got an RFE .
