They seem to be slowing down a bit, which is a bummer.

I wonder if that Union strike thing in Cali has anything to do with it.

Hopefully not  Seems like it wouldn't affect federal employees. Maybe all the approvals just happen to be going to non VJ members.

Hm, probably.

And tomorrow's dreaded Friday.

Which means Saturday and Sunday are coming. And they're closed then.

And I have to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. :(

Well, at least there's no holidays till Labour Day, so here's hoping we have something before then.

Usually they do a lot of approvals on Fridays. Maybe this Friday will be one of them. For some reason I have this feeling that you will get yours sooner than you expected. Just hang in there.

I mostly hate Fridays because I have an insane amount of work to do at work, and then I have to get up an hour earlier than normal Saturdays

Hey on the positive side, it will keep you away from VJ and get your mind off things. I love fridays at work. It's the most relaxing day of the week, and we actually get to wear jeans :). Yeah, I hate waking up early as well. That is why I love Saturdays and Sundays I get to sleep in.

I also stand around in one spot for my job, really kills the feet.

I wish I could have a chair, haha.

I'd probably get fired

The store owner is a jerkface. We're not even allowed to wear jeans, even if they're black.

He'll usually make some smart ####### comment about it if we do.

You want to trade places. I have to sit on my chair majority of the day. I am on the computer, and from time to time I can not help checking VJ to check if there is an approval. I have turned into a VJ addict. :help: ...lol I would love to be standing. It's funny we have it complete opposite.

Yeah, we are not allowed to either most of the week. But, Fridays is casual friday. Sometimes, I sneak in some jeans during the week that look like work pants, and I have not gotten caught yet. Sorry, to have to work for jerkface.

I'm in a chair in front of a computer most of the day too, so guess who sneaks onto VJ when they get a chance? But I also spend a portion of the day hauling freight around in high heels because my couriers are never around to do it for me (and they insist on bringing me huge, heavy boxes instead of just giving me the number and leaving them in a cage).

I also get "casual" Fridays, which really translates into nice jeans and our sponsored team's rugby jersey. Mind you, I got the jersey for free and it's warm so I don't complain.

Going over to visit Jesse in two weeks, hopefully by the time I get back (Sept 6th) something exciting will have happened ^_^

July 2007 - met Jesse at a beach party held by mutual friends in Long Island, NY

May 2008 - J-1 visa expired, had to move back to Australia

July 2008-September 2008 - lived with Jesse for three months in Staten Island, NY

March 2009 - Jesse comes to Australia for 3 weeks

April 2009 - Engaged!

05/20/09 - I-129F petition mailed in

05/22/09 - NOA1!

05/25/09 - touch

09/09/09 - NOA2!

10/01/09 - due to fiance's illness, we are abandoning pursuit of K-1 at this point. Packet 3 received from consulate but won't be returned.

We received our letter from the NVC today saying that our petition was forwarded to the Embassy in Dhaka. :)

We are really in shock how quickly ours has been processed. We do wonder if it has anything to do with the extremely low number of K-1 applications for Bangladesh and also that I am a Designated School Official in SEVIS at a public university working with F-1 international students. I think they did background work on me before I was given authorization for that. Maybe it was a combination of luck and those things.

Good luck to all of you. Your time is coming. :)

08/24/2010: APPROVED! VISA IN HAND! :) (AP lasted exactly 2 months)

08/28/2010: Entry to USA at JFK.

02/15/2011: Received AOS Appointment date

02/16/2011: Received AP document!

Yeah, CSC's been dragging their butts for the past 2 weeks.

And nothing in my inbox or no status change for me, but I guess they still work for at least 3 more hours or so

Hey they just approved a May 09 filer close to your day. You never know it could be sooner. I am the end of the month filer. We seem to be the last ones out..:(

I do hope you get yours sooner, since it seems like it takes a few months to get an interview in Montreal.

Hmmm...maybe they are helping VSC catch up.
