Hi Guys!

I just wanna ask if 2007 and 2008 W2 of my fiance is enough as proof of income? Although I have the latest letter of employment of my fiance with his annual income stated on it. He said he doesn't have any piece of paper back to him after he filed, except for his check.

I hope it is enough to show during my interview.

Thanks!

I don't think you really need tax return documents of the sponsor at this time of the process (of course they don't hurt either).

Evidence submitted with the I-134 (or presented at the interview) usually are 2 or 3 recent paystubs, letter from the employer (like you already said), maybe some current banking information (like deposits in his bank account), proof of other personal property, stocks, bonds, life insurance, things like that. Just make sure you have that on hand as well.

Best if he gets you tax transcripts from IRS for those years. They are free. 24/7 800 829 1040. Takes about 1 week.

He is going to have to produce tax returns or transcripts when you adjust status after marriage. So best to get that information together now.

You can call the IRS and get the transcripts faxed to you now - no need to wait. Took me about 15 mins or so to get my 3 years worth.

If you just use the W-2's for the I-134, you will need the corrosponding 1040's to go with them (if you don't have them now)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

My fiance just had her interview on April 28th at USEM. The first thing they asked for was for the 2008 ITR, W2 and the I-134 application. I had to fedex them to her because I had just sent my last three years W2's, Letter from employer, Letter from bank thinking that would be sufficient. As I think someone already posted you can call and get your tax transcripts for thelast three years if he doesn't have copies of the 1040s. Good Luck
