Medical and interview

What are the chances of getting the medical and interview for K1 done within a few days of each other at the Montreal consulate? I live in Nova Scotia. Should I be planning on more than one trip to Montreal?

The woods are lovely, dark and deep; But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep...

It is possible to do in one trip. Another VJ'r 'Wis-Can' did it recently. You can book the medical a few days prior, and pick up your results I believe in a day or two. Just plan on being there for a week roughly.

A week? This is going to be expensive...:(

Well you likely arrive the night before your medical as they are done first thing in the morning. You need 2 days in between for pick up and potential 'gliches' and then interview day, hoping a weekend doesn't fall in between. Sorry I should have said about 5 days...

You could book your hotel on Hotwire and get a room for as low as $60 a night roughly.

Thanks for the info...I am not looking forward to a week in Montreal by myself. My fiance is going to come, if he can get the time off of work. I know he doesn`t have to be at the interview, but moral support is everything....and it may help to show our intentions are serious. The whole process just seems so unnecessarily complex. I get frustrated because we are seperated, and feel like nothing is moving forward...

Bringing my fiance to the interview was a really great idea. He helped calm me down when I started to get nervous, and the interviewer seemed to like him being there. I was nervous and he took my hand and held it and I saw her smile a little :) What a cute, touching moment.

If you are 110% confident you have all the requirements and nothing will be wrong with your medical, you could probably limit yourself 4 days in Montreal. You want 1 day for the medical, 2 days for it to be processed, and then the interview the next day. Since you are in Nova Scotia, I would definitely wait, taking an extra trip would be a lot more time and money.

Thanks Hugglebuggles (lol at the cute name :D ) I see you are in Littleton...I am going to Colorado Springs...my favorite needlework shop is in Littleton. I am amazed at how many people here are either from Canada or Colorado. Small world...

Speaking of the medical exam-how much is it? I know my visa fee to bring with me to the interview is gonna be approximately $360 something... Anyways, I've tried looking this up to no avail, so I thought I'd ask...

thanks, for the 50th time, in advance :D

It depends on where you have it done and how many vaccines you need.

Mine was at Medisys and it was 378$ .. but I had 3 vaccines included in that price though.

Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.

ack-which vaccines?

Take the vaccination list to your GP and have them do any boosters. Keeps the cost down.

Required Immunizations

Awesome-thank you SO much. I have an appointment next week with my doctor, so a printout of this is totally accompanying me :)
