hey guys.

i'm a full time student and disabled so i am (very blessed) to have my parents co-sponsor for my fiance.

i realize that i have to fill out an I-134 as well. question 11 (intent) i plan to put that i will give my fiance $100 a week until he can procure a job. my parents give me $200 a week just to help me out.

they also pay for my apartment that my fiance and i will live in.

where in question #7 do i put that i get $200 a week from my folks and does that look suspicious since i put n/a to employment (full time student)?

what would you do?

thanks in advance. i know this question is a confusing one.

I would just show your occupation as student with zero income. Please note "a" parent can be the co-sponsor based on their own individual income, not "parents".

Eh... no... since you're a full tim student, just show your income as $0 on your I-134.

A sponsor (one of your parents in this case as I understand) will have to show his/her income on his/her I-134.

Doesn't really matter. As you said, not much in it... You would have to show significant assets to do it on your own. As a full time student you definitely need a sponsor, nd hpefully what he/she makes is enough to support his dependents (including you) + additionally your fiance

Correct answer for #11..."NA K-1 visa for permanent residency"

Your employement is "student" your income is -0- (if indeed that is the case) An allowance from parents is not income. You have a co-sponsor so your level of income is not important.

OK, let's try it again...

On your I-134 you show $0 income, but list your assets... including bank account(s)

On sponsor's I-134 he/she will have to show enough income/assets to support whoever he/she is supporting now + your fiance at no less than 125% powerty level.

Don't worry. A modest bank balance is ok. This is about having income above the 125% mark.

Unless using money in the bank as assets, they don't care if you even know what a bank is. Leave it blank. You have a co-sponosr

no. my folks do alright for themselves, that's a non issue.

what i was wondering was if *i* should get a letter from my bank and all those things that my folks are doing. i can. it's not a big deal and would show why we need a co-sponsor i guess. i just dont want to be caught in some sort of stupid perceived lie that will trip us up when the time comes along for them to see the I-134.

thanks, btw!

Wrong again, when income is sufficient, you leave all references to assets blank. The same is true when you have no income or insufficient income unless you have enough liquid assets to qualify on assets alone. (Takes over $50,000 to qualify on assets.)

The other key answer I'll confirm is that the answer to question 11 is "No" and "N/A K1 visa" for both the petitioner and co-sponsor. "No" is also acceptable.

When you claim "student, 0 income" you do not need a bank letter, if you want to attach one it will not hurt anything. I am not sure what lie you perceive they would suspect. People without incomes can and do have money in the bank. If you list no bank assets, no name of bank and no other assets whatsoever, what would be the lie? That you HAVE money and didn't tell them? They don't care if you have more money than you say you do. I used a bank letter as verification of income (the previous year I was self-employed) but left bank balance information on the form blank. In my case bank balance was irrelevent, I was not using cash as assets to meet guidelines. Deposits were more important as it supported my claim of self-employment. I have lots of assets and left all that blank. You have a co-sponsor, no worries.

Maybe you just didn't take enough time to read my post carefully...

I wrote "income/assets". It implies the combination of two. If your income is enough to qualify, don't need to list assets. If your income is not enough, you have to list it anyway and assets in addition to that. Comprende?

no. i'm still confused

MY #7 says: N/A (full time student)

#11: i checked "intend" and was going to say that my father would be furnishing free room and board in my apt that he pays for until such time as my fiancee procures a job and can pay for some of the rent himself. and *i* would give him $100 a week until he got a job

O_O long winded, huh?

i guess ill leave the "intend" to my dad.

:| just trying to help out...

so nothing but a bunch of 0s for #7 then, huh? alright *wrings hands*
