Hi there! I am new to this forum and I desperately need some help! My husband and I have been living together for 6 years and are about to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. We have decided to file for my husbands green card but we are very confused. My husband came here from Mexico illegally in 2001. He has no criminal background or anything. We spoke with an attorney who said we should file for the I-130 but I am confused about all the stuff I see. She made it sound very simple- we file, he gets an appointment in Juarez. At the appointment he will have to ask for a second appointment asking for a pardon for coming here illegally. The pardon is approved and he is issued the visa and comes back. Reading this forum makes it sound not so simple! Plus, as we need to prepare financially, I am curious if anyone knows about how long the wait is from the time you file the I-130 to your appointment date. Would it be faster to file from Mexico? The attorney made it sound like the whole process would take about 4-6 months but now I'm not so sure. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated! I am very intimidated by this whole process! We live in Phoenix, AZ, if that makes any difference! Thanks again!
