Got my biometrics done yesterday - and as I already expected: getting there through traffic was the hardest part...

I was chatting with the lady who took my fingerprints, turned out both our husbands are stationed in Ft. Lewis and both are getting ready to deploy... so she told me if I should be called in for an interview to just come by myself and bring my husbands military orders to deploy to Iraq and not to postpone the interview until he gets back. I am glad I found this out, I didn't know that and therefore would have cancelled and rescheduled a possible interview.

Hey there Liebi, glad the Seattle office was good to you. Was the gal doing the biometrics Filipino? Nice of her to give you some advice in case of interview, hopefully you won't need it though! Good luck!

Thanks ready4ONE. I am hoping the same (for all of us). :star:

Everybody at the office was real nice. I was just surprised that they processed everything/everyone in that one building. In Denver, where I did my AOS, they had a single office for everything. The biometrics office there wouldn't even let you in without the proper invitation letter for that exact date - so I always wondered how people manage to do an early-walk in-biometrics appointment. Now I know.

The lady who gave me the advice was a white gal, but there was a Filipino lady working at the computer right next to her.

Congrats on the approvals! I feel so behind just completing biometrics today :P I probably could have gotten them done earlier for a walk in but with my work schedule and my husbands it really did not work out before now anyway.

Quick question, on the biometrics notice it says to take the notice and photo id such as passport or state issued ID. It says for naturalization applications to bring alien registration card. Well I had my state ID and took my passport with stamp in it just in case, good job I did cause the lady asked for it! I told her I do not have a green card, just the stamp due to old one expiring and she was asking where it was though and demanding she have it - I didnt have the old one with me and explained the stamp surpasses my expired card, then she was ok with that but had to verify my passport picture with my state ID pic...strange.

OH and I can now see my case online :D

Don't worry about it flutter! Important thing is that you did in fact get the biometrics done. After all it's not like we're out of status while waiting or anything :) Besides, you never know .... your file may land on a kind and fast adjudicator's lap and you could be approved lickety split!

Yes, it arrived yesterday, apparently sent out from the Nebraska service center. My approval date was July 20th.

It's funny -- the approval notice is just some cheap computer print out, not even on the official USCIS paper or anything. I was slightly disappointed. LOL!
