Front loading?

I've been banging around immigration forums for over 4 years and have always thought "front loading" the initial petition was a waste of time and effort and may just piss of the examiners.

Recently I've seen a number of people that say they were denied or put on AP without the CO even looking at the evidence they took with them of a bona fide relationship to the interview.

From what I know all the paper work that is submitted with the initial petition is forwarded to the respective embassy and may be reviewed just prior to the interview and at least it "may" be check out.

It NOW looks like people should front load as much evidence as they can of a bona fide relationship . Financial I guess can wait until the interview or NVC.

Just my hundred bucks+.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

The more you front load the less chance they can deny for lack of information they try to overlook

I think it is more a consulate specific issue... front loading would not have benefited me

YMMV

Personally I did include a small section of Proof of Ongoing Relationship in our K-1 petition. Reason being is that I included a photo of Alla wearing her engagement ring with St. Sophia's Cathedral (Kiev) in the background. So this also helped establish that we did meet. And another photo of her displaying her ring in the ring box with the name of the Jewelry store on the box and a copy of the receipt from the store. I also included a couple of pages of the log of emails, SMS calls, and Skype sessions in that section. I felt it wouldn't hurt and wasn't large enough to be a burden by the adjucator.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

I think it's more Embassy Specific

I did put in more info than was asked in documents.

Such as Baptismal Certificate, etc.

I don't think sending tons of Emails or chatlogs does any good.

I think putting in a little more than required is good.

But I think if you put in tons of emails/chat logs then it could be bad.

I think being neat and clean with your paperwork, and having it assembled in a professional matter is important.

It is consulate specific. Makes ne difference how much evidence you submit at the New Delhi Consulate. I have seen cases approved with 1 short visit and no documents submitted just coz they look like stereotypical couple and cases put under AP or denied with tons of evidence submitted and lots of meetings too.

In another very recent thread (K-1 forum?), Marc Ellis recommends front-loading if it will help deal with potential "red flags" that otherwise surround the relationship.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Legacy members of VJ have long recommended some 'front loading' of petitions. It gives any CO a 'snapshot' of the relationship before he/she eyeballs the beneficiary.

What is a 'legacy member'? I've never heard that term used on VJ before.

I think you have to make a large financial contribution to VJ to earn the 'Legacy Member' status. Or shave Ewok's back hair monthly.

No. Legacy members are mostly gone from the site. They are the people who were here when it was first formed or very early on. Most were highly knowledgable.

ie - I don't consider myself to be one of them.

Too many changes happen at Embassy and USCIS to make people who did the Visa Process years ago to really have relevant information.

Current Trends and recent posts will help people determine how to handle thier situation
