HELLO GUYS... I JUST IMMIGRATED HERE IN THE US THROUGH K3 VISA , I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR A JOB AS IN ANY JOB... BUT NO SUCCESS... CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE I AM SO DESPERATE.. ANY LEGAL AND DECENT JOB WILL DO.. I LIVE IN CA...PLEASE

What kind of work did you do before? Do you have a resume? Have you signed up with "temp agencies"?

temp agency is probably your best bet, because there are alot of people looking for jobs right now.....

Do you have a phonebook? Look it up in the yellow pages.

Prepare your resume.

Just one thing: do you have your EAD or your green card already? Otherwise you cannot work.

Take a deeeeep breath and go to Craigslist.com, look in Orange County and there are loads of jobs to look through. That's what I'm doing. You can't freak out, k? *hugs* and STAY STRONG!!! And hey, if you need something now, maybe consider a food service or supermarket job. As for temp agencies, just do a Google search - "temp agency, fullerton" and you'll get a grip of them to contact.

It's gonna get better!! Believe it.

thanks guys! well i've been sending resume everywhere.. but it seems they prioritize people receiving food stamps and other people who are receiving gov aid.. bec of the 9,000 tax credit the company will receive... ooohh my goodness... really this so hard... with all the lay off going around.., any... i will try what you guys say.. lets see what happen..

Be sure to use caps on start of sentences on your applications.

As stated above, I would research temporary agencies as a good starting place for finding a job. If you were working before coming to the US, try finding like-kind work here. Have someone review your resume to ensure that it presents you in the most positive light. Do not try to create a one stop shop resume. Tailor it for each job. Take the descriptions of the position you are applying for directly out of the ad and work them into your resume.

There are many people looking for work, but companies want to hire someone who wants to work for them. They will tend to steer clear of people who seem to be overqualified or people who have a strong background in a different industry. It is costly for companies to hire and many of them are looking for someone who will not leave in 6 months time. So you want to make sure that they believe that you are interested in the organization and in the industry.
