Hey ladies and germs,

Sitting at lunch thinking about all of you.

Beth, I am not calling again today I refuse to call until it gets to 30 days. I am trying really hard to behave myself and practice my patienc. DO YOU KNOW HOW hard it is ????????????

Lol, but not calling has not stopped me from checking my online (un-reliable) status .......... NOTHING since the 23apr maybe they realized I was cutting in line and decided to work someone else.

Who knows how the crack-pots work over there.

Bet... I am hopefull for you as i understand it any time they open your file or move it from shelf to desk or check a document with a file scan. So maybe they are processing the RFE you sent in ... it can only be good news :)

Talk to you later .... keep thinking smiles and sunshine... as someone else said "things that are great are worth waiting for"

Hey Courtney,

Your right, I hung up the phone while on hold. But I wont wait 30 days, I will wait till May 12th. It will be 60 days. and 5 weeks on a desk. I truly hate this process. I got chaos at office this afternoon, UGH!!!! Im going to hit someone with my broom stick if they dont settle down. Okay, got to go. Betsy, its going to happen, besides your at CSC and she was at VSC. Both service centers pains in the hearts and assets. Hang in there, I will call you when I get out of here.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

i hope somebody here follows soon.

btw, i got hold of my husband today. so i can sleep better now. nothing beats hearing his voice even on phone to calm my nerves.

actually, i'm off to sleep now.

c&a, i suggest you wait until the 8th... would be best so you won't get bitched about just in case you get hold of one of those nasty phone operators. luckily, i haven't encountered any of them.

cheers!

Its not as easy as you may think. Im actually a Import Specialist. Yes I do clear freight thru U.S. Customs, USDA , but Im a specialist, I deal in difficult commodities to clear. Ive done this for 15 years, I went thru back ground searches galore, etc, and I have a degree in law enforcement. Im actually the youngest woman in this select group known as a specialist, and as I mentioned I've only been doing this for 15 years. Now there are many steamship lines who hire "green " people. Green means no experience at all in Import/Export world. I will help and guide you as much as I can in this profession.

Hummm.. really?? I have uhh.. almost 4 years background doing export and import papers here under a private company, position title used to Export Trading Specialist/Purchasing Assistant (Import Department). i'm sure the law is quite different there that's why I wanted to see what kind of qualifications are needed. I'm a Business Administration graduate, have already finished two years of law school here (i'm sure this will not count there).

Wondering what's with the background check?! Do you work for government?

Hummm... it's not really definite yet... but just in case my husband decides to switch career.. we might decide it's time for me to go to work and this is the only line of work that I have ever done since I graduated from College last 2003. Was wondering if you have to pass any professional certification or anything like that for this line of industry in the US.

In Philippines, almost anyone can do it... company would provide training and seminars. No need for any professional certification. Usual background checks by company are done but not extensive. it is not gender specific either... most of the ones that i've met under this field are women too.

still no NOA2 for us, by the way.

I will tell you one thing. sounds like you got back ground in Imp/Exp and that is good. Houston is a prime area for this, we have Port of Houston, I believe its the 3 largest port in US. Plus since hubby is a trucker, he could find a steady job here working for a company, tons of work to haul. Think about re-locating to Houston once you are here.

Do you have your brokers license? If not, study for it, sky is limit with it.

Morning Castaways. Been a week or joy and disapointment. For myself its a new journey. I've let so much go in my daily life, and decided on a new journey, just to live day by day. It can be a painful journey thru this process, and one can lose focus on other important things. So its Saturday, and time for "normal" things, cleaning house, playing with the dogs, riding my horse, and taking care of things I've let go. The visa journey will still be there after the weekend, but this weekend belongs to me and my husband, no visa issues, not even visa talks on our weekend chats. This weekend is normal things, and a dinner this evening in front of web camera with my husband. So need to get going today, and then get ready for my date with him. Have a good weekend ,and for us USA folks, dont forget the Kenturck Derby this weekend, as my friend Besty reminded me.

Dont stop living cause of USCIS, its all going to be there on Monday. Take time for yourself and the loved ones your with now, kids, parents, family, & pets also. So now Im off to ride then bath and groom my horse, she is a Polish Arabian, and as she nayed at me while taking trash to front gate, that she wants time also with her mistress. Have a good weekend all, stay strong, keep your faith.

Love to all of you Castaways!!! XOXOXO

Truly happy!!!

Beth,

As always you are providing words of comfort when we should also be comforting you! I hope you spend a great day today focusing on your husband and yourself and your life outside of "immigration hell". I too need to forget about this for a while and focus on my family and kids and the day to day routines. Hope you have a wonderful day, I am off to bake derby pies with my 9 year old son. LOVE YA

Hey Betsy, as I came into the house to get Pumkin "my horse" some apples, and sugar cubes, I saw you posted, and wanted to let you know, Im fine. Got your voice mail, thank you. Enjoy your weekend with the kids, and pie baking, can I get one delivered for dessert with date with hubby tonight? LOL On a lovely note, hubby keeps texting me reminding me of our date, feels good again, to know, no matter what happens, him and I will face it together. And that is what is important. Our husbands may be thousands of miles away, but one thing never changes with this Immigration hell, they are our husbands, loved ones, those are the things that always stick by us in good and bad times. Enjoy the derby, your pie baking and time with your precious kids. Will call you tomorrow evening. And as you have shown me many times, you are always there for me and all of us.

Love to you and all of us in this. Enjoy this weekend, and for checking for touches and or approval, very seldom on weekends.

Lets all get away form anything relating to USCIS, Just live this weekend as if its your last, enjoy, laugh, and most of all smile for what we DO have in our lifes and our hearts.

Okay Pumpkin wants her apples and sugar cubes, so time to live . Time to ride.

All my love ,

Beth

Oh cool! thanks for the tip about brokers license. we don't have that here... everybody can do import/export as long as you get training.

i'm going to look into that.

he hates driving now, been whinning about it for a few months now. he used to love it... well, things change i guess. but we'll look into Houston when i get there. He do so loves TN though... and i can't bear to tear him away from the place.

Anyhoo, thank you guys for putting up with my mini manic depression this week. i'm back to normal, whatever 'normal' means for us people.

see what a call from my husband does to me? hehe. he's the best... irreplacable.

Have a great weekend everybody!!

To Arthur & Roberta, my very favorite couple and my friends. It is you two that have been strong, waiting for so long. There is also a very shining light in your dark clouds, Roberta will be traveling soon, and once again your family will be together.

I pray also for your approval to come in very shortly, and then you can move on with your journey.

Yes Summer is here, my favorite season of the year, time to get some sun, have a long mini weekend holidays, and most of all, enjoying the long Summer days with your loved ones. The memories we make with our loved ones is the strength that carry us thru these trying times, times of hopelessness, times of mental exhaustion. One day soon, we will all look back at this, and will realize we emerged from it with our loved ones, and stronger mentally.

Have a wonderful holiday. Send me lots of pics, cant wait to see them.

Love to both of you's, all my best.
