I am getting the run-around from both NVC and USCIS on this....I have gotten different answers from both departments on whether this can really happen or not: my I129F for K1 was approved on 4/6/09 and the approval letter I got said nothing about going to NVC (as I have seen on others)...it actually stated that it was being sent to the consulate...do they really do that sometimes? It has been 3 weks and 1 day now since NAO2 and NVC still does not show it received when I call and talk to them. I realize it can take longer than that...but now I am concerned it really may have been sent directly to the consulate in Manila. How do I get the MNL # now to schedule the interview? I thought NVC assigned that? Help anyone..please...Thank you!

NO it cannot... NVC assigns the appropriate consulate... USCIS does NOT... It cannot get into the consulate system without going to the consulate gateway... that gateway is none other than NVC...

YMMV

I called USCIS after we were approved and at NVC and the lady on the phone was very confused why our case was at NVC. I had to talk her out of taking action on it. They really have no clue, especially at this point in the process. Just be patient with NVC.

No. All visas go through the NVC to the consulate.

USCIS and the consulates and NVC are separate government divisions. The USCIS finishes their part and passes it on to the State Dept. The State Dept has chosen to use the NVC as their "clearing house" or "portal" for all visas. USCIS has nothing to do with this. USCIS forwards it to the "consulate" which means going through the NVC.

ALL visas go through the NVC

I am having the same problem as Fourjudge

attached is a photo - stateing that it is to be sent directly to the consulate, here is my hard copy NOA2 for what its worth, what course of action should we take? i spoke with the manila embassy - they have no record and swears that it will go to the NVC, NVC swears it will go to the consulate, i haven't involved the people from USCIS yet, but i can only imagine how that conversation will go...

Yes, straight to the consulate (VIA NVC)... NVC assigns a case number and does some checks and then forwards. It is how it works.. the language is the same "boilerplate" language every one gets including myself and our file went to Kiev via NVC

YMMV

hey guys! I had the same problem... I even called the USCIS and they gave the false information...

REALITY is that, CASE GOES TO NVC regardless if your NOA 2 says it will go to consulate or national visa center.... it will go to national visa center...

SO, if National Visa Center have not yet received your case, keep calling.... keep calling everyday to that 603 area code number and.... it will get there! Some people it may take up to 1 month.. not sure why, seems like National Visa Center is pretty backed up!

Please note that no information about K visas can be obtained from NVC unless you speak to a human. Yes, all petitions for visa pass through NVC regardless of the text on the approval notice.

Is NVC running behind?? OUr case is 28 days now and still not received at NVC, when I call there and talk to a live person. Anyone else waiting for a month or more, just to get received? Thanks!
