Quick Question about Affidavit of Support

Hey guys, I am real close on my requirements to pass support. I only had about 12k in income last year due to being unemployed for about a year due to some medical issues. I have enough cash in the bank to pass support requirements (3x difference) and can probably pass it on my own, especially with a letter from my employer stating my current salary.

My question is: Is it ever a bad idea to have a co-sponsor? I mean, if I am close on everything, but probably can pass on my own, would it be a bad idea to have a co-sponsor too anyway? I just want to make sure there are as few hangups as possible. Also, just wondering, what if someone didn't have a co-sponsor and they denied them due to support requirements, would they give you a chance to get a co-sponsor, or more employment, or would you have to start the petition over from scratch?

Thanks

Keep in mind you are asking the joint sponsor to sign a binding legal document with the government (I-864) so if for some reason the sponsored immigrant goes on public assistance, you or the joint sponsor may be liable to repay that support.

If you can go it on your own then do so, IF NVC has an issue with this let them request a joint sponsor.
