“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

My biggest adjustment has been with food and food ingredients, but I think I am doing pretty well on that department now. Other than that, there have been adjustments regarding extreme weather change.

I guess that's about it for me, it hasn't been all so dramatic for me and I don't feel all lost, yes sometimes I do but once in a blue moon.

I am in Canada, but will be going to US (soon, I hope, lol) on a K1 VISA. I have visited my fiancee several times, and the hardest part of living in Colorado seems like it will be the heat in the summer. Last summer I nearly got heatstroke at the Ren Faire...being from Nova Scotia, the heat is a bit of a shock. Good thing my fiancee has central air conditioning!!

Food is different but not drastically...and i`m a pretty adaptable person so I don`t anticipate a lot of problems.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep; But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep...

My biggest adjustment has been going from being someone who had a job, and was used to being out of the house since 6:00 am in the morning until 8:00 pm, to being a stay home wife :( I did not know how to cook, how to clean, how to do laundry... nothing! I always had someone to do those things for me and its just very hard to do it all by myself now and not have any meetings or presentantions nothing, but stay here in the house and clean and do laundry! My husband as most american husbands helps me a lot, but still the laundry and cleaning seems endless! LOL

I moved 7 months ago, and I'm doing much better with the cooking, cuz our first dinner I set the fire alarm off! I got the laundry under control, but the cleaning part I've just come to accept that I'm not very good at it! LOL Ughhh it just never ends!

As for the things I don't miss I'd say its the traffic, I lived in a 2 million people city, I'd drive at least 1 hour from home to work and 1 hour from work to home, every single day! And now I live in a town of 30,000 people, where being 15 minutes away is considered far! LOL

First, adjusting to the cold weather. Imagine how cold it was . It was about 90 degree Fahrenheit in the Philippines and here it is below the freezing point. When I arrived in US, going out from the airplane I step back when I felt it was so cold and my husband was at my back he hold me and say to keep going, cause we might blocked the way out. Finally, we were going home and I don't want to go out and want to stay at the airport because it was very cold even I am wearing five layers (sweater and winter coat). :bonk: Shivering with cold.

Second it is so quite, you can hear the sound of a needle drop from the floor. :)

Third keeping myself busy. Cleaning the house and hunt dust bunnies, cooking mostly Filipino Foods and my husband like what I cooked and he didn't care about is the bitter melon or "ampalaya" he said it taste so "awful and throw it I don't like it". Oh my, that was my favorite. :crying: I learn how to bake some cookies, pies and cake.

Fourth, learn about the place we live, where and how to go to some places like the Church, grocery store and of course the Mall for shopping. Learn about some of the appliances like the washing machine, dryer, microwave, oven, sewing machine and mini track loader

Lastly, you need to follow the rules of the road in US. In Manila traffic it is defined as non-moving vehicle, if you can pass just go, there is no rule and no traffic lights if there is, still need traffic aides.
